Small game season is over in GA at the end of the month and the long range weather forcast calls for rain every day through March 1st... I feel your pain!!

I'm in GA too. Friday is down to 38% so I'm hoping maybe just some morning showers and I can get out for a few hours.

Just switch over to pest species. Here in NYS the regular “game” hunting season ends February 28. But starlings, chipmunks, red squirrels, pigeons, English sparrow, etc. Can be engaged year round with a valid hunting license. So still lots of hunting/pesting to be had.

Here in Michigan it goes to March 31 but after that the pesting on dairy farms kicks in!

Squirrel season ended 8 days ago and I'm already trying to tell myself I can make it to August 1st.
And the squirrels immediately started ranging closer to the house.
Maybe I won't have to wait that long after all....

My ground squirrel season is about to start, I've got a feeling it's going to be a stellar one, been cold (snow) and wet, I'll bet those little pests have been rather bored this winter, making babies and hungry. I shoot them on private land, a horse owners association.

Rabbit and Quail ended for us in Cali in January. Ground squirrels will be getting active soon in my area and there's the very rare Collared Dove. The rabbit population crashed in my neighborhood, hopefully with all the rain we've had they'll get busy making more rabbits! I never even hunted rabbit in 2022, there were just too few around. I have popped a few ground squirrels but the only ones that are out now are the old and wary ones.
So I'm punching paper when I get a few free minutes-I'm enjoying the 30 yard challenge.
