HW/Weihrauch HW 30 what spring kit

Hello hw30 and r7 owners,
I'd like to mention my stock hw30 in .177 has over 6,500 pellets through it and has given me zero problems over the last 3 years of owning it. I noticed what looks to be a broken spring but have not opened it up yet.
My question is what spring should I order...?
I'd like a slightly slower velocity with a real smooth feel. I mostly own 10m rifles and enjoy the soft smooth shooting they give me.
I've heard of short stroking but I believe that is more on harder shooting models. My air rifles are for killing paper and bugs so I'm looking for a spring that will give me 550 - 600 something fps and a smooth sweet recoil.
What is your recommendations...?

I really like the ARH spring for the R7. You'll likely need to compress or remove a coil or so to meet your goal though

I like the Vortek spring kits. I have one in mine now, same power as stock.

What I like is the spring ends are not finished. That makes clipping a coil or two at a time to get to your desired power level very easy.

I cut 2.5 to 3 coils off the Vortek spring in my 95. That made the shot cycle so smooth.

I have had both spring kits in my R-7, they are different.The Vortex is more like a quick push shot cycle the ARH is more like a regular shot cycle.
I have been able to ask ARH,=JM for a specific spring rate and he was able to deliver.
It sounds like you want a < than 12lb spring like the English must use.
I agree with others ,ARH is the way to go, that said my Vortex kit is also good.
Go to both sites and see what they have and also talk to them about your wants.

I have a vortek in my hw30. It made it an amazing little rifle. I love it.

For this objective, go ARH. I’ve tried both, and the ARH kits typically give a smoother shot cycle than Vortek.

ARH I hope has less pre load and is easier to break open, Vortek in my .20 I bought does 8 ft lbs and is great shot cycle. That being said it’s loaded at battery break. Meaning it’s under spring tension immediately

I have installed a Vortek with impressive results. I have a ARC and TNT on the bench hopefully some year will put them in all .177’s to compare. Crow

I have the Vortek kit in my HW30. Pushing over eight foot pounds with the H&N FTT's. Very smooth shot cycle with a gentle thunk. Highly recommended.

Is it under immediate load at barrel break. It’s not hard but there is a bit of resistance upon the ball bearing latch break.

The rifle is very easy to cock. A gentle slap on the barrel frees it from the detent. One of my favorite rifles.
