HW 35D iron sight tricks.

Starting to like my HW 35 with iron sights since scoped, it is shooting poorly. I only got one insert for my front sight and it is narrow post. The iron sights line up good but I cannot seek the front post very well on the target. Gets worse with my glasses although the target looks clearer. What sight insert works best with being near sight. I want to order the right insert. Any tricks to make your front sight easier to see. Thanks for any replies.

A Merit Eye Aperture might help. I’ve also punched a small hole in a piece of electrical tape, and positioned it on my shooting glasses…looking thru a small hole seems to really bring the sights into sharp focus.Give it a try…you have nothing to loose. Good luck. John
Lol.. id never thought of that one , but now i can .🤔. That black electrical tape would go well with all the glue jobs on the frames of mine.

Where did you find those tru glo sights are they just beads you glue on the sights?? Do you just buy this and chop them up into beads and super glue to your sights??? https://www.truglo.com/replacement-fiber-optics/
Check your pm mail.. i was planing to picture a step by step later on the how to or how i did... Maybe after supper. Its easy peasy..

i have a clear glass insert with a hole drilled in the middle , you can get different size hole i find the smallest 1.5MM to be best ,
the great part of this is that you can see the whole target no blockage .

you can find on Ebay or https://www.champchoice.com/
I joked once about having glasses with mil-dots etched in the lens..

For help in seeing the front sight better (I'm near sighted too) I've found that painting the front sight with orange model paint really helps.
With a black front sight the sight disappears when aiming at something dark like a black bullseye. With the orange front sight the sight remains visible. It still works well when aiming at lighter colored targets.
Just use white paint as an under coat first.

P.s...
The polish lasts way longer then 10 fays ..lol. I think the post i use its been well over a year and still there .. ( lolly)

Use the same method to put a flake on each side of the notches on the rear blade as well😉
