Tuning Hw-44 pistol power adjustment

I have one of the HW44 air pistols. It shoots at 750fps with the 14.3 JSB domes. It consistently shoots nickle sized groups, at 50 yards, with the JSB 15.89 pellets at around 725fps. Which is very respectable for it's, if memory serves, 9-10 inch barrel and factory tune.

There does not seem to be a lot out there on the gun but here is what I did find. The last link is a video on increasing the power on one of the 100 rifles which may relate to the HW44.

I had a HW44 in .177. and it was very accurate. After a few weeks it started to sound a little "off" and then it started leaking. Stuff like that happens even though I did not adjust anything. I just shot it as it was. (And never over filled it)

So I send it back to where I bought it from for repairs. As you know the LDC is fixed on the US models. It comes back with the pins that originally "fixed" the LDC in place drilled out and several additional permanently locktighted set screws added to hold on the LDC. Apparently they needed to remove it to repair the problem. It looked "cheesy". Anyways, it started leaking again, sent it in and it was "repaired". Got it back with no pressure, filled it up and I could hear the leak! They were kind enough to credit me back what I paid for it.

Since they told me that that particular HW model was rather difficult to work on, my advise is if it works OK, don't tinker with it.

This is my 2nd HW 44 I love this pistol in fact it's more accurate then some of my airgun rifles!! But I don't mess with all my airgun I was wondering because I have Hurd a lot of guys say they loose fps after a short time my other HW 44 has held air and fps for over a year now. So I was asking so I know also if it was simple I would increase just a bit more thank you for the info. Also the new HW44s you can remove the silencer it's not lock tight anymore it's much easier to clean and pack.

My .177 HW44 is one of the few air guns I own that I haven't felt the "need" to modify for more velocity. For me, the power and accuracy are fine stock.
