HW 45 incoming

I have been wanting a Weihrauch HW 45 for some time, and for the last few months had been looking at Pyramid and AOA, and had given up. Sometime this afternoon I was looking for something else and happened across the AOA site and they no longer show as not in stock, so placed a quick order. Their site is acting quirkey and could not sign into my account, it saying username or password incorrect, don't know why as they were saved there. Charge went through on credit card so I am hoping to see one late next week.

Tread carefully, I got burned on a well known dealer's website that allowed purchases on products, shown in inventory, only to be later informed of no availability and being placed on Waiting List. $50 Transaction Cancellation fee charged for refund of money. Was told it's impossible for an order processing computer to be linked to an inventory control computer, so that was reason for problem. WM

When AOA last moth they said there were some HW 45 coming in,but there were a lot of back orders to fill. Since then I was able to pick up my missing .22 cal here on the forum. I now have one of each .177 / .20 / .22 HW45 or P1. They are great pistol and a blast to shoot.

I can’t believe what $$ the HW and P1 are bringing on eBay. I hope you get yours.

I did get an email from Darren at AOA this morning showing my invoice, so the order is in and good. I still cannot sign in using my username and password, so no way to see anything there about the order, but at least I printed out a copy of the invoice so am covered there. Unless a site requires a payment on backordered items and stats so, they should not charge you until the order is shipped, or being prepared for shipment. Cancellation fee because they took an order , no way, get with your credit card carrier, better business bureau and paste them all over the internet.

jking,

Website noted, "Call for Availability," which I did not do. Chalked it up to a $50 lesson learned, which I share to help others. WM

I've ordered from AOA after noting that an item (ironically a HW45) was in stock. They called me a short time later advising that the item was in fact not in stock and that they would be issuing an immediate credit to my card. Providing the excuse that its "impossible for an order processing computer to be linked to an inventory control computer" and then charging $50.00 to cancel an order that couldn't be fulfilled? Not sure what vendor you are referring to, but it sounds like a bad business practice for such a "well known dealer".

mabpi,

Agreed, I feel my exuberant enthusiasm, as a newbie, was taken advantage of, even though I failed to follow the bold, red letters on the website that said, "Call for Availability." This dealer is worshipped by some, on this forum, as one of the greatest, so hard to imagine him guilty of any questionable business practice. It's a conundrum, suffice it to say, he'll never get any business from me. Goes to show, just because a vendor or dealer is an AGN sponsor, doesn't make them honorable or decent. WM

took the post office over a week to get this one delivered to me, but it was worth the wait. Paid for 2 day service, and it took 8 days, just happy it arrived safe and sound not sure I will ever find another. P1 .20 cal 1 of 50.

I like it,! It's much easier to cock than the HW75, probably because it cocks on opening, and actually once you get to the half cock/power position going on to the full cock is a breeze. I took it out yesterday for a little while, conditions for this old southern guy, was a bit too cool to be comfortable for such a sedate activity and a little breezy. I moved my pellet trap to about ten yards/long paces and a few adjustments and it's in the bull, then I switched over to my hanging soda cans and off the rest it was easy hits, then stood up and started shooting theme offhand, again easy, considering that they were dancing a bit in the breeze. I had read where it was a difficult gun to shoot because of the recoil, but I did not notice it. It may come in if trying to shoot small groups, but I am at my point in life more interested in having fun, and a tin can jumping is more fun than a tiny group on a piece of paper.
