This is a older HW 80 ,.22 I made for myself. I rarely use any barrel longer than 13 inches shrouded, to 17 with some internal work . However; I wanted this gun to look like a classic Remington 700 look

It’s very accurate but took some time to get used to the ballance of 500mm barrel.
20 ft lbs and a breeze to cock with a 29 coil spring and custom guides and top hat, minor port work.
Since I never use sights I machined the breech to match the chamber like a Uk Tommy. Reblued to factory finish..

custom feather crotch walnut stock.

Shot cycle is dead ,but a louder snap than I’m used to as there is no shroud.

i would be drooling too much to shoot it .

Thank you to all you fellas.. I have really came to love the HW80 platform. I especially like the newer guns with the sliding new cocking shoe and the front machined removable mounting bracket with spring pressure cocking arm .. Two weak points on the older welded Beeman and such. Newer Records have hardened middle Sears now which need less messing with to get right in the zone ..

15 to 20 ft lbs in .22 is perfect depending on barrel.. 14 to 15 ft lbs with 10.3 in .177 , anything bigger is not needed and shot cycles suffer ..The guns are really spring dependent , change barrels , chances are a new spring combo will be needed … …….

I have a few Hw80 .22 barrels here (not for sale) factory , k series as well as my own choked and unchoked .. in different lengths for testing.. it’s AMAZING how each barrel reacts to the gun.. Shot cycle changes as well as accuracy. . I ve said it before and I’ll repeat it.. NO TWO GUNS ARE EXACT ,EVEN IF THEY ARE THE EXACT GUNS AND BUILD SPECS

******* (I have another R1 .177 build that’s ground up build , I will post in another thread , once the owner receives it today).

Your taste is exceptional. Your skills are beyond my dreams. Crow
Amen to both! What a fabulous air rifle.

Gotta be honest, I see a lot of custom stocks that to my eye are overly busy and not that attractive. This one is just sublime.
