HW100 .177 thread size for moderator ?

All is definitely not right, but most are, as is the hw100. I have 3 that are 10x1mm myself. Again, hw100 is 1/2"-20

That's interesting. As a matter of curiosity, which rifles do you have with the metric thread? Just wondering if they are "home market" rifles that we don't generally get in the US. Thanks for the information.

Brocock and 2 snow peak guns. I actually have four barrels like that. 3 guns, though. Fx Ranchero has a very small barrel, too so wouldnt be surprised if it was 10mm. Some big bores will have larger than 1/2" as well.

I have the Weihrauch HW 110 with the bonded on factory moderator. It is quite long and very effective. Being that the gun is a carbine and a .177 @ 20 ft lbs, I have been wanting to remove the factory mod and try something smaller ie Hugget Belita or Donnie Koi with the cone endcap. Unfortunately, heat, liberal doses of blast free, and strap wrenches have failed to loosen that bond. Not going to biff up the gun over this but thought it was worth a try, Apologies if I strayed off topic; don't want to hijack the thread. If anyone has a suggestion , please respond.

I've had 3 HW100 rifles, and the first thing I do is remove the darn glued on silencer. It takes heat, not a little, a lot. I use a propane torch. Use something like welder gloves to unscrew it. As soon as the epoxy melts, it will easily unscrew. You may slightly mar the finish at the rear of the silencer, but mine has been hardly noticeable, except under close scrutiny.

Thanks, the heat gun just wasn't getting it. Time to fire up the torch. Any problems removing the epoxy from the barrel threads? I was thinking perhaps acetone or mineral spirits.

There won't be much there after the heat. I think I might have used a stiff brush to clean the threads a little.

Wow! You weren't kidding! Gotta get that sucker hot. It was worth it, the gun is just as quiet with the Hugget Belita and only 36" long. Definitely worth the effort.

And yes, the barrel is threaded 1/2 x 20.

Thanks elh0102 I'm in business.
