HW/Weihrauch HW30 50 yd Bench

that‘s honestly amazing shooting with that scope. That‘s equivalent to a like 500 yard centerfire shot.
That is sort of been the direction I take this hobby.
Long range shooting on a small range. I started with 10 meter pistols shooting 25 yards. It takes almost all the up the sights can adjust too, to zero them.
Here's a video from 2012, at my old house with my HW75 pistol, scoped, at 25 yards.
I show the good the bad and the ugly. The last shot is the best in "extra slo" motion.

That was amazing! That last shot of an aspirin (or whatever it was) was otherworldly my friend! Thanks for sharing!

Airsoft pellets!
That was a great day, that I'm glad to have on video. That is the same back stop that I'm using at 75-yards here.
Happy NewYear, Storrmin-Norman! 👍

All this time I thought those airsoft pellets were .25 caliber, but they turned out to be .22 cal.
That's less that 1 moa at 25 yards.or the same as shooting a 7/8" ball at 100 yards. 👍

Yes, but I’ll ask you a question. What are your groups at 50 yards with a HW30? I’m trying to establish what a very good group can be expected at 50 yards. Personally I think 1” groups at 50 yards is pretty good but I am interested in what others are doing with theirs consistently. I should have mentioned .177 but you can tell by the hole size.
Nothing wrong with 1 inch group @ 50 yards with a springer.

At 50-yards with my TX200 MKIII in .177 I would look for under 1 inch but expected more tha 1/2". I have a few videos. Here is one.

Thanks so much for this vid on 50 yards. Very helpful. I just started last winter shooting the HW30 and have been amazed at how well it shoots at 50 yards. I’ve just received a week ago my new HW97 and am still breaking it in. Can you please tell me if you shoot any lighter pellets at 50 yards with your TX200? If so how tight are those groups? If I buy one more gun in my life it will be a TX200 But I love both my HW30 and HW97.

I’ve put about a tin and a half of various pellets through my new HW97. Waiting patiently for the gun to settle down and start grouping. i hadn’t shot anything heavier than 8.67 through it. Today after watching your video I was out shooting on our local 25/50 yard range amd brought along a new tin of H&N Baracuda Match 10.65 (I ordered when I bought my HW97 as I’d heard it likes them). I am not familiar with that pellet as I only had the little HW30 prior. After about 2 hours of shooting very unimpressive spotty groups at 25 yards with lighter pellets I thought WTH I’ll try the Baracuda 10.65s. They fit super tight, kinda scared me but within about 15 shots it started grouping very, very well at 25 yards! I was impressed so put a couple of 3” targets out at 50. Wow, was I happy. Very promising groups of .52” CTC and .82“ CTC (would have been tighter without the flyer that was all me and the touchy rekord trigger that is backing out on its own). So glad I watched your video this AM! I would have shot some more but I’d been shooting 4 hours and my toes and fingers were frosting up 😂.

What other pellets did you try? At 25 yards it should be drilling the center out.

No consistent groups and used all the usual JSB, AA, H&N, QYS, Crossman, etc. all in the 7 to high 8 grn. HW97’s can have a long Break in period even warned by Weihrauch. They don’t shoot like the TX out of the box. I feel confident It will be hole on hole soon With more than just heavy pellets. Do you shoot lighter pellets at 50?

Yes my 97K and prosport will shoot 1/4" 5 shot groups at 40 yards with QYS 8.48, but 1/2" groups are more realistic. Before QYS, I shot JSB
8.44's mostly, but they kept getting smaller and didn't fit the bore as well as they did when they came in the white tin. I've changed tunes in the 97K several times over the years, and I quit counting after about 30K shots. Mine never did well with heavies, I've tried several times and it never grouped as good as the lighter pellets. But this is just barrel differences I'm sure. Now, I haven't tried the H&N baracuda match 9.57 or the H&N baracuda 8 8.44 yet, so I'll test those at some point. It will shoot the 7.33's the 8.64's and the crosman 7.9 pretty good. None compare to the QYS 8.48 in my barrel though. I found them by accident scrolling on Instagram..lol.
You'll know when you find the right pellet, just keep shooting. And clean the barrel.

I find a lot of the JSBs are damaged, I’m assuming in transport. My HW30 loves QYS and I’ll assume the 97 will too eventually.
