HW/Weihrauch HW30 leather breach seal ?

There's make your own tuts around .
Think 2 vids for sure.

There eas one guy i think said a common 1" pump leather cup seal will go.. i guess look at them and match up best available.

Maybe a place like this can just make one up to your spec

Thanks ,ill try a different source , the one i have is 2MM too thick . It is the white plastic one , ill order the blue one ,maybe a better fit
Interesting...I've done the new white factory plastic breech seals in some old leather-sealed HW 50's with no issues, the old 30's might be a bit different.

You can also use the plastic breech seals in HW 55's (which always had factory leather), but the 55 is kinda weird with an angled recess different from other older Weihrauchs, which takes some trimming of the seal. Perhaps the 30 is a similar fit.

A friend told me a great trick for those tough plastic seals, which are hard to cut - he sticks them in a freezer and then sands them down.

The blue one from PA is even thicker. I ordered one early in my springer days and it created so much barrel droop I ruined my scope trying to zero it at 10 yards

Breech seals i got from arh had to need a bit shaved off .. but did not think to harden them i n the freezer first .. i will next time 👍. Was not hard to do unfroze but i can see that making it a tad easier

I bought two when i ordered , so i had an extra which fit perfectly . uninstalled and measured the first one and it was1.2 MM too thick ???

HAHAHA maybe the old story of made monday AM or friday PM ?
I i put one in and looked fine at first glanse but shooting i could " feel" somthing off. How it locked , poi , just somthing not right..

Then sctewing around i had my glasses on loading s pellet up and thats when i noticed a spot in the seal where it over compressed in that spot and was showing a blemish .. like you check it vs a stock hw and it was a little long ..

Seems like bayman/ mycap64 also pointed this out on the aftermarket / arh seals he got ..

I had two , so i tried the other one and it fits perfect now , must have been a poor seal on the first one .
Excellent...and thanks for posting. Good to know I'm not crazy or a liar after all! 😄

One thing I forgot to mention, the plastic breech seals can fit so tightly, they trap air underneath which makes 'em hard to fully seat. I've read of guys actually cutting a tiny vent slit down the outside to work around that.

And don't forget, the flat end of the seal goes in; the rounded end faces out.

Enjoy the little beauty, they are great. I have one and love it.
