I have a HW30/R7 barrel that is going to be used to make a longer barrel for another gun. Does anyone know if the barrel is pressed into the block? I assume it is...

Pressed and depending on age it'll have a proprietary nut at the back of the breech or a pin through the side of the breech block holding it in place. Gotta love German redundancy.

The actual barrel in the breech block is Screwed on the front with that star nut then knurled pressed in With sleeve retainer.
You will need to make a socket to get the nut off and will need enough heat to discolor the breech block and a press with a jig to fit the breech seal area
Not a easy job . Your much better off buying a new barrel and breech all in one.
