Gary, I think it's definitely worth double checking the scope zero by placing it back on the LGV or another proven gun to make sure it's not the HW30 (as suggested above). Question I have is: if it's not the scope and the gun can be proven to be faulty, can you claim the warranty on it and get a replacement? I'm sure that will take till May 2020. Way I see it, these are not cheap toys and should work as advertised.
While I am a huge advocate of the Vortek kit, I will say that mine shot very accurately even before I installed the new kit.
I know my grief will not make your's any better, but here is my Hawke story. I bought one of the new Compact models recently, shot that 50 yard group I posted a few days ago using it. Scope is really nice, but...I just had to return it. Darn knob that turns the illuminated reticle on/off was so difficult to turn that would require a wrench. Not sure I will replace it at this point.
I really hope you can get the HW30 to work for you, it really is everything everyone says it is.
