Never synthetic for me. Even beech has far more warmth than synthetic. Then there is the classic blue steel and walnut, I just got a 35e

I own both. Some like the aesthetics of wood. Others want a truck and woods gun where you don't have to worry about knocking it around. They both function the same.

No. It is a wood stock with the synthetic layer over top. So, no hollow feel. It is a good choice if you are rough on a stock . Probably also a good choice if you go out in bad weather for extended periods.

That's interesting. How long ago did you get it? Do you have a picture of your synthetic stock Hw30? If like to see it.

2018 or 2019 maybe? Whenever they first offered them. I got mine before AoA even had them on their webpage.

Get the laminated wood stock, tough and solid
Or spray rubbery truck bed liner on the cheap Beech or Popular stock like a lot of manufacturers do.

Yes that and too purdy to paint. Not to mention expensive.

Because I asked AoA once upon a time...Laminate stocks aren't so much a one time thing as they are a special run of a given model in a given color.
I was told that if you can get a group of at least 25 shooters together that are willing to pre-order, AOA will make an order for them, BUT everyone must agree on:
-Which model of HW you all want, aka 30, 50, 95, etc
-Color of laminate and Yes, it has to be only one color
AoA will place an order to to try and get them made. I was told wait time can be at least 4-6 months since Weihrauch has to order them from their stock maker. The laminate stocks are made to order, so the stock maker has to wait while they are, then cut and finish them to ship to Weihrauch, who then builds the rifles to go in them.
It's been a year or more since I sent my email to ask and things may very well have changed by now, so someone would have to email like I did and ask if they'll still do it.

The new wood stock is easily nicer, but if you're going to figuratively, "beat the thing, get the synthetic - more bullet proof

I wonder if the cutout is there for resting the rear against a bag.
Anyways, the 30S synthetic looks to have a more vertical grip & I would like to try that out.

I have both the wood and the synthetic HW30S. The synthetic is lighter than the wooden stock, feels more like a hunting rifle. Nice stippling at the pistol and forend. Plan on taking her for a spin this weekend.
