HW35E new style stock

I have a HW35E .177 that I bought right before Weihrauch ditched the finger groove, it will wear a Williams peep. I also have a HW35 in .22, beech stock with finger groove, it is scoped. I was not real excited about the new style stock but wanted to get rid of the beech, I love nice wood, so I ordered a HW35E stock from Krale and just received it. I am torn as to which rifle I should put the new style stock on, looking for opinions from those that have shot both, is one better suited for peeps or a scope than the other?

Show us your 35’s. We all love a show and tell. I am just about ready to order a 35E in 177. Have the 22. I am contemplating the same thing. I have the Weihrauch diopter on my 22. I want one scoped to. I will let you know how it goes. My initial thinking is to keep the 22 in iron and the 177 scoped. The 177 will reach out further and the magnification will be helpful.

Yea Bear I would also put the diopter on the .22 and scope the .177, that’s how my HW30’s are configured. The 30 .22 is a hoot with peeps. Unfortunately my 35 .22 was chopped by fang and a Wolfe moderator installed so no front site, it will have to stay scoped. I’ll get pics of them out here once they are configured.

You’ll love the .177, mine is going out soon to have a tune and an ARH kit with Vortek seal installed, should make it that much better. Hope you pull the trigger on the .177, don’t think you’ll regret it.

Here is a picture of my 2 HW35'S and the new 35E stock. Leaning towards putting the new stock on the scoped .22 and leave the finger groove stock on the .177 that will wear a peep after it comes back from getting tuned. I'm not a very good photographer.

The HW35E are getting my attention. I understand that the new stocks no longer have the finger grooves but are the stocks ambidextrous or right/left hand shooter specific?
The new checkered version does have a right hand cheek piece. I’m a lefty and and the cheek piece does not bother me at all. Just makes the gun look more traditional. No interference with my thumb or hand. The left hand side is perfectly comfortable as any stock without a cheek piece would be.

Having finally handled a finger groove stock 35 I can say I don't see the attraction to them. It doesn't fit my style hold. I may be doing it all wrong but I like the hold the guns further out. The finger groove just doesn't work for me at all. Honestly I like the Lazer checkering on the new stocks. If I were to want a 35 I wouldn't want the finger groove stock.

I have the new style stock and I really like the way the gun handles. I haven't held the old style, but that stock was what drew me to the 35 in the first place.

I was disappointed the finger groove was no longer offered, but the new style is awesome. The checkering is very effective and looks great and the forearm is a bit more narrow then the old one.

I have the HW50S and a HW77. The gun I always want to grab first is the 35.
