Will have one of these next week, and was wondering what you folks use....red dots, scopes? Backyard fun, pest control, and of course some groupings at further distances....

HW44 in 22 what scope and red dots are you using?

I know this is not a pistol scope, but the HW44 is so accurate I wanted more magnification when shooting it.
Running a Riton, 4-16 x50 wide FOV scope...awesome glass, not too big at 12 inches, and gets me enough magnification for the HW44 shooting range.

The 22 HW44 is capable of sub one inch at 50 yards. Pretty awkward but had a little UTG mini swat 3-12x glass etched. Worked... Even used the rings that were included... Better yet if yours likes the cheap Crosman CPHPs from Wal-Mart. ENJOY! Yo!

I have a Hawke Airmax 4x12x40 rifle scope on mine. It was just sitting around so I found a use for it.

Had a Holosun 2moa red dot and a Burris 2x handgun scope I would swap between on my HW44. My eyes don't do well with the red dot (astigmatism), or lack of magnification, so I tended to use the scope more often than the dot.

I have the old...astigmatism also, and have various red dot sights on my powder and air guns.
The Holosun line of red dot's is one favorite. For my amount of bad vision, the Holosun produces a fairly clean dot/circle. The key...is not to turn the volume (brightness) up too loud. Keep it as low as possible and still be able to see the dot/circle. Works well for me.
Holosun has a verity of different sights. Red, green, amber (gold). Most are adjustable with just the dot, just the circle, or both the dot and circle. Smaller versions for pistols and larger versions for rifles. I have a pistol sized sight on one of my Bullpup air rifles.
I have others also. Might be large, but no larger that a scope, the Vortex, Strikefire, has a very clean / sharp red dot, even with my crappy sight.

with the MR10+ reticle. Just can’t beat it, and it is my favorite scope on my Fx Rancheros. I think it would suit the HW44 just as well.

Holosun HE-407C V2 here. I got it today, and it works well. The brightness can be greatly reduced, which makes the dot smaller. It is also very light.
It's not cheap, but neither is the HW44.
Previously I had a cheap Chinese red dot, which also worked well. I am not so sure it is worth the 10x difference in price, but the holosun is clearly better.
FWIW, I have about 10 red dots, ranging from $20 Chinese non-name, to Athlon, Bushnell, Vortex and Holosun. I cannot tell any difference between $20 Chinese and $60 Bushnell or Athlon. The Vortex is better than the others, but the holosun is clearly superior to all of them.

Funny, I just got the hw44 back out yesterday to test the crimson trace red dot from midway. It’s a CTS 
103, I think on midway it’s 70.00 give or take a few dollars. Crazy midway, I ended up buying surplus military shirts and jackets , one for me and the others as presents . Anyways, my hw44 started with a vortex venom red dot. It is a good set up, but I put it on my hw45 springer pistol (.22 polymags and a hw 45 can kill a squirrel quickly up close in a vital area shot, has more than enough oomph for a brain box kill. Then came the hawke 3-12 scope, which eeks out a lot of accuracy, but made the pistol heavy and awkward, also, not a pistol scope, so eye relief was not ideal. But, man, is the hw 44 accurate and quiet. Lastly, the crimson trace went on. It is a cheap red dot, but for me I realized the hw 44 for me is a quiet, lightweight pistol hunter for up close and fast shots in a heavily wooded area.

I'll never get rifle scopes on pistols - the taco hold is not an enjoyable or pleasurable way to shoot. Also - I think the HW44 is to precise for a simple red dot.
I think a Leupold 4x handgun scope would compliment the pistol well. Or you could step up to the variable handgun scopes from Leupold or Burris. I have both and love them. They're not cheap scopes though - so plan $400+.

I have an AimPoint Micro T1 red dot that I used to have mounted on an AR. So far it is working out well, may eventually get a handgun scope

UTG 2 to 7 scope mounted with see thru mounts. Iron sights for shots at closer range and scope for longer range. I have the same setup on a pp700. Works like a charm on both.
