Anyone have an idea to what the thread size is on the HW44 moderator tube ends/end cap/barrel adapter? Looks like possibly a 1”-24 or 1”-27. Taps are expensive. Thanks!!

I'm not sure myself, but if you make an adapter to 1/2"x20 UNF I would very interested in buying one from you.

This is a great looking adapter but I've been in touch with the maker and because the demand dropped after his initial run he is not making any more of these.

you can get a nut or bolt and try it,,, but I measure 27.8mm on the piece that goes into the tube,,, so M28x1.0 ??? I guess
this has nothing to do with the barrel fit, just the moderator tube body
edit: that M28-1.0 is for the HW110 moderator, not the HW 44 mod.

Thanks, but I have the moderator,need to shorten it an inch. Will need to re-thread the tube

now if you were to try to tap thread an inch in a tube you would need to have a lathe to make it right

I gave in and took a chance ordering the HW44 adapter from India. Overall experience was excellent. Ordering on the website was easy and they take PP so don't have to hand out your CC number. They shipped via DHL Express and the package arrived in 3-4 days. The adapter is a good quality piece and installation is very easy. Now able to use a variety of mods on the HW44. Total with shipping was $43.50 USD which I consider an average and reasonable price for a mod adapter.

old topic but I also need an answer if anyone actually knows the thread size for the cap to the moderator. Have to cut it down to make it legal for pistol field target.

now I had to go and remeasure,,, and I must have measured the moderator for my HW110 and it is 28mm
I just measured the mod for my HW44 and it is M26-1.0mm
