HW/Weihrauch HW50S .177 Silhouette Shooting

Bad practice not holding that barrel while inserting pellet. Don't trust automatic safeties in break barrels.

Looks like fun!
Educate a mainly powder burning firearm enthusiast here if you don’t mind. What’s this about holding the barrel to insert the pellet? I don’t want to be doing things errantly, I just like to shoot!

If it was to release it will slap back and do some danage . Crack the stock , bend the barrel, most time if it happens it could be junked.. now of course i dont practice that , but i do know and eell aware of the risk damage..

Like a hw its a gun you can decock / no antibrartrap mechanism . And if the trigger is set too light and the safety maynot full catch it could "fire" in open full load spring and bear trap close . And thats not a good thing.

Finally foud somthing , pretty basic info

I definitely keep clear of my fire control group until I’m ready to fire. I have read the risks of the barrels slamming shut and will seek to build muscle memory to overcome that habit. Thanks for pointing it out. I have not fooled with the trigger settings from the factory. I find it more than acceptable as is. Thanks for the tips, y’all.

Good shooting! I've got a bunch of those yellow 1/10 scale silhouettes. Great fun. PA gives a pack out for free when you buy a rifle. I have my .177 HW50S set up with a peep/diopter sight too. Used a spare Daisy/Avanti sight I had in the parts drawer.
