HW50s Question....

If the front sight is completely covering the target you should be adjusting the rear sight up, not down? I have 2 50S and quite a few other HWs and have no issue zeroing them from 10-50yds. The one exception is that lollipop insert which I assume is meant to cover a 10m target. Not sure about that one though.

Regarding a Williams peep sight I say go for it though. I love the couple that I have. Night and day difference in target acquisition
You are correct, I broke down and looked at the book...made a world of difference when I adjusted the rear sight in the correct way.
Neon nail polish 🤷‍♂️
Unlimited color variety and cheap/lasts forever
That's what I'm looking for. I'll find a bottle of florescent green and have a lifetime supply!

I have: white, bright orange, and black(the black is to cover up my mess ups or make the neons smaller)*easier to do that than to try and remove the paint🫠
if you use a toothpick; its easier to apply it in dots and then build up the dot rather than trying to use the supplied brush🎩🤙

One thing about the interchangeable front sight insert; if you apply some sort of colored paint to the post/ball/whatever, you could always pop the insert out and turn it around to get back to the unpainted black.

I currently using a Williams FP-AG-TK on my HW30S with the post-ball front insert and I really like the setup. I might consider a little bright white coloring on the front sight at some point in the future; I just ordered an .050 low-light rear aperture for the Williams sight, we'll see how that works out (sight is factory-supplied with an .093 rear aperture). I do prefer the rear sight at the back of the receiver, have never been a fan of the rear (iron) sight being positioned halfway to the front sight, seems like a European thing to me.

There's a HW50S owner on YouTube (Brent Fox) who installed a Williams rear sight on his rifle; after seeing his videos I was inspired to get myself the same sight. He's also on this forum as Brentona, check his stuff out, lots of great info (y)

Had to redo the sights on the old 188.
Up close pics look funny but when aiming; its much easier.
Blacked em out again first(with brush bc of area needed covered) then used a paperclip tip to apply the white🎩🤙
