Tuning HW95-Which Tuning Kit?

I've looked at them. Sooner or later I'll try one. He's got his special grease he calls "bumslide". Gotta get me some of that!

He's a riot. I like his videos. He obviously knows his stuff. He's cartoonishly English and is very entertaining.

... Did you see the HW97k he shoots? He shortened the mod by slipping it back over the barrel and shortened the cocking lever. Just a great idea!

He's a member here. I've seen a few of his posts. He even writes with an English accent. What a hoot!

I'd buy a kit from him just because he's such a character. I've heard the springs are top notch and last a long time. No experience with them yet but I'm working on it...
Yes he's very funny, I enjoy listening to him talk.
His 97K is very cool, I like the short mod he did to it, and it looks good too! I think the buttslide is some kind of moly. I agree the spring is the heart of the kit, I don't want any spring sag after a few thousand shots. I've only used JM springs and haven't had any problems other than a broken one, but that will happen to all of them sooner or later. As a matter of fact they seem to get better the more I shoot them.
As for other kits, I think I would try the TBT kit first and see how those springs last and the fit of his guides. I'm glad we have several tuning options to choose from.

I have used at least a dozen Vortek and ARH kits in my guns over the years. The Vortek kits use larger diameter wire and fewer coils in their springs. ARH springs typically use smaller diameter wire and more coils in their springs. The Vortek springs produce more power and have a snappier shot cycle. The ARH springs generally have a more docile shot cycle. I have had good experiences with both and think that they are an improvement over factory internals. My personal taste favors the shooting characteristics of the ARH kits, but that is totally subjective. My experience has also been that ARH springs last longer. That said, I do prefer Vortek piston seals over ARH piston seals. Vortek kits come with a piston seal, ARH kits do not, so my ideal setup is an ARH spring/guide with a Vortek piston seal. Have not yet tried the TBT kits. Good luck choosing.

Vortek kits don't come with a piston seal. You can include them but they don't automatically come with it. After trying nearly all available piston seals I almost exclusively use the Vortek seals. The exception is when there's comp tube deformation. A thin lipped factory Weihrauch seal is more flexible and will seal better.

I've used both Vortek and ARH kits. I've had good and bad luck with both. Tom at Vortek is just easier to deal with.

Yep, I stand corrected on the piston seal 👍. It is an easy drop down add-on when buying a Vortek kit, but it does cost extra.
