Popped up on my insta feed, new HW95K adjustable looks pretty cool.
I think the stock looks pretty good for factory. It has stippling which is a nice touch, and I like the adjustable cheek piece as well.Nice if you like that kind of stock. But same Old 95 .. (which I love) but not so much their factory palm area on their stocks .
I would benefit from the adjustable cheek ,as I like a higher weld ,it’s how I make most of my own.
I am forming a pattern now for the 95/R9 platform.
That place is in the UK I think, but maybe it will become available? Not finding any for sale in the US.
So you like a fat around the grip area.? Thicker ,or more set back.. I personally like very thin from front middle finger to thumb if I don’t make a thumb plate.. IE,WEATHERBY style. Usually with a bit of inner palm swell. It's a neat feature on the stock. The 95 does not need much more height in the cheekpiece for a reasonably sized scope. And good cheekpieces are easy to come by. So I'm not sure it's an earth shaking development. It will help guys using giant scopes to get better cheek weld and I suppose that's an added value.
The stock modification that I feel is needed is the grip/palm area. The HW rifles are all way too slender. The proper finger position on the trigger is impossible. Even on the thumbhole stocks. The grip area seems to be designed for a child.
I paid extra for a walnut stock and I'm hesitant to wrap an inch of tape around it to get good ergonomics. If they had included this much needed design change into the stock it would be great. Sadly the photos look like the grip is as skinny as ever.
I think they should offer a synthetic stock like the blackline on the 95. I would buy one in an instant. A nice fat grip area you could feel in your palm would be great. At least if you wanted to put a roll of sports tape on the grip to get it to fit you could do that without ruining the look of the wood stock.
They are great rifles and this looks like an answer to a problem they didn't really have. It's a cool feature and many guys will love it. But IMO it sidesteps the obvious stock change that would make a real difference in ergonomics.
It will be Sporter Roll over design. Maybe thumb plate. I’ve toyed the thumb hole idea but it’s just not my sandbox.Another fine
Wierdrock design
Anxious to see A.G.R. stock
I dispise stipling. Pressed Checkering is second.. I’d rather have a well fitted bald stock.. That being said, I believe a stock isn’t finished until checkered. It makes them in many ways.I think the stock looks pretty good for factory. It has stippling which is a nice touch, and I like the adjustable cheek piece as well.

My 95 pattern will be that. I always make them oversized for baseball mitt hands. You can take it off but ,can’t put it on.

5% more accurate. 50% less power. Unless I’m killing paper only. De tuning a perfectly engineered rifle to be a waste of time and money for me.I wonder how a HW95 would be at 12 fpe? Hmmm...

Factory springs are questionable with loose guides and loose seals… get a tight guide and tighter Vortek Vac seal and watch things change. You basicly dry firing the gun ..Hw seals are easily burnt and undersized a bit.I understand how a fellow who likes to tinker with air rifles wants to "improve" them for special uses. And there is a difference in the feel of the shot. I'm not sure it really improves accuracy. It may if you lower the power that much.
My 95 has trashed another factory spring. Its the third factory spring in less than 10k shots. It's shooting about 550 fps. Yes the shot cycle is smooth. Yes it is superbly accurate. But you can't shoot it 50 yards with iron sights without using the entire front sight post. The trajectory is just miserable. It does not hit the targets very hard. It's wimpy.
The HW rifles have been more trouble than any brand I've purchased. I simply can't get one to shoot more than 4-5000 shots without a failure. And I've owned 4 of them.
I like the new stock design. It may sell more rifles. But IMHO they need better factory springs and dampening much more than an adjustable cheek piece.
I wonder if this new design stock fits the receiver in the rear? All my HW rifles have a big gap between the stock and the receiver that collects stuff. Even the synthetic stock. I've always wondered what the deal was with that gap back there....
My Hatsan has an adjustable cheek piece, thumbhole walnut stock, shoots 760 fps and is almost as accurate as the HW95. It cost me a whopping $150. In my experience the Hatsans have lasted about 8000 shots before spring failure. My D34 lasted 15000 shots between factory springs and I have another 15000 on a Vortek kit for a total of 45000 shots. It holds a consistent 675 fps. I've never had an HW rifle that would shoot over 650fps nor last longer than 6-8 tins of pellets before I sent it back for repair.
I'm all for more features and adjustments. New stock designs. Tuning and tweaking is great. I just wish they would focus on dependability and making a more utilitarian design rather than esthetics and extra features.

better yet ,get a Vortek .125 wire cut to 32:coils and a delrin top hat with VAC seal and use factory guide as it’s snug.

You would think they would address the spring issue, but they won't. Their factory springs are too brittle and they snap at the ends, at least mine did. My 77K spring actually was pretty good and has several thousand shots on it, had it up to 937 fps at one time, now it collects dust in my spring stash. I use ARH springs as Jim Maccari knows how to make a spring last, I have broke one of his Hornet springs after thousands of shots but that was the only one. I use his smaller wire springs now, .120 diam and space them up in my 97K and they work good for me. Although I make my own guides and top hat, this isn't an option for some people. I haven't tried any of the Vortek stuff, so I can't comment on that. I imagine HW's production of the springs is for the fastest cycle time and tempering or whatever they do. But production is about time saved to make more products, so there's that.I understand how a fellow who likes to tinker with air rifles wants to "improve" them for special uses. I've said that about why not a lighter more affordable maybe a better shouldering for irons / adult sized synthetic / blackline addition 95 ..lolIt's a neat feature on the stock. I have spring from a new never shot HW95 you can have for free. Just cover the shipping and it’s yours. That is excellent advice.
I'm aware there are good solutions. I'm wondering why there is a problem in the first place. It would be so easy to correct.
It's my opinion they should focus on those problems rather than new features. The guns are too darn expensive to have to modify them to get reliable service.
At least make them reliable enough to outlast a $150 Hatsan. I honestly don't think that is an unreasonable expectation when buying a $600 rifle.
