HW97 KT Vortek Tuner?

The HO kit will put a .22 97K at 17fpe (14.66gr FTTs) give or take. I have one in mine and its fantastic. That is probably my most accurate springer while still putting out enough energy and accuracy to anchor a groundhog in its tracks with a headshot at 30yds.

My 177 97K has the 12ftlb PG4 kit installed and is tuned to about 11.5fpe. That gun is very easy to cock and very accurate as well. I use that one for Field Target.

The other notable options are the ARH kits. I have one in my 35E and love it. If I ever end up grabbing another 97K, I will be giving one of his kits a go in that as well. I suspect it will be amazing.

I have an older PG3 full power kit in my 177 Hw97SE. I have it knocked down a tick to 14 fpe. Super smooth cocking and shooting. Zero twang or spring buzz. It's a joy to shoot. On a bench that is. Too damn heavy to carry around. On a good day it'll shoot shoot under a dime at 50 yds. Truthfully I don't believe the kit has much to do with the accuracy. I just wanted to brag 😊 The 97 is a great gun. I'm sure you'll be happy with it no matter what direction you go with it.

Enjoy

The spring twang is something I would like to eliminate for sure. Other than that I am happy with the rifle. Looks like I need to get a kit on order.

Thanks for everyone’s input.
Following up on this thread, as a new HW97KT owner. Did you decide on, and install, a kit?

Also, +1 for the Vortek piston seals... put one in my FWB Sport and it significantly increased power without requiring careful sanding like the ARH seals do (ARH seals are purposely oversized so you can whittle them down to what you need - sounds great until you realize that each time you want to evaluate it after sanding, you have to take the entire gun apart, sand the seal, clean/re-lube the receiver/piston, put it back together, test, rinse and repeat until you've got it... PITA!).
