HW/Weihrauch HW97k stock finish

Is this just sanded from the factory or is it sealed with something? Put a few coats of tung oil and once it dried it looked the same.

You could ask a wood /furniture restoration guy on tips or read up on things to use like the tung oils are popular , but look over what else to fit your need

Or read up

What do you mean by drinking? What work do you prefer? I want to have the wood semi glossy looking
If you want any type of semi gloss you will need to fill the pores with a blended oil type filler then wet sand the Finish in. The stock is already sanded and ready ,the wet sanding is done with fine paper and does not remove any shape

This is an example of a filled satin when looking at it but sheen across it fire arms finish.. There isn’t one Airgun manufacture that does a proper oil finish.
wiping oil on hungry wood is fruitless. It will seep in and after the 56 th coat you will start to get grain dish out build..

You can see how the grip is shadowing the light fully filled and sealed. It’s not the hardest and your not far off from filling. Once filled it’s very quick

NOTE… DONT USE TRU OIL. ….

Exactly... Like I said it's going to be as close to the semi gloss . Big a heck of a lot nicer 😉

Maybe find a cheap hatssn turk walnut stock ( junk 95,) and have a practice stock to play on to learn
