HW/Weihrauch HW98 Piston sleeve (or lack there of)

It appears I forgot to reinstall the piston sleeve when throwing in a ARH kit. Any issues if I go w/out one? My 98 uses a new style cocking shoe.

I kinda dreaded the whole tuning experience & would rather not disassemble again. Should have sent it to a professional tuner, but I didn’t.

You'll be totally fine without it

It does help shield spring grease from slinging out. You shouldn't have used much grease or tar on the spring to begin with anyway

I believe that the only downside is a little louder shot cycle. My HW95L at about 5' recorded via iPhone. ARH kit & Vortek seal.

Nah, it will be fine. It may not have fit with the sleeve anyway.

If it did, it may have helped tame a little buzz but it may not be enough to notice.

May throw lubed up through the cocking shoe slit on to the piston tube wall from off the spring ..

I mean if you got it just put it back in .. it's not big deal to snatch it back apart ..

my favorite is one of the square keepers fell out and see it on the table after I got the stock near put on ..
