hydro testing on a new tank

hey guys is hydro testing required on a brand new carbon fibre tank?
​do all dive shops require you to get a hydro text done on a brand new spanking tank?

​or do they require you to get a hydro text done 5 years after the made date on the said thank.

thanks guys for you help as I'm getting a new ttank tomorrow and would really like to know.

Hydros are required 5 years after the production date. Most dive shops around here require a visual inspection every year even though the tank is not used underwater.

No. The manufacture date is also the first hydro date. It will be clearly marked on the bottle. You'll have to get it hydro'd in 5 years.

well I got my new tank filled today for the very first time. it was a new tank but still got charged an inspection fee for the shop to inspect it. cost me $33 for that.
​have any of you guys had your new tank inspected when it was new and took it too your dive shop..
is tank inspection required on a new tank?
