I bought a Shelden compressor

Being slightly OCD, even though I knew the 2.4 compressors were sold out, I kept going back to the sight. Low and behold he had 2 in stock. When I called there was only one left in stock and I took it! Purchasing the compressor, oil, extra filter, and shipping it will be around $1850.00. He states he has parts for repairs and has saved one compete unit "just in case". Like many of you, it was hard to cough up the cash for the Datstate or Bauer, and I was uncertain about an effective dryer on the shoebox or Omegas. He still has the 4.2 available but they start at $2600.00, with all the extra's and shipping it will be closer to $3000.00.

From all the reviews Jim is an honest person. He states he has parts to repair if needed. He could build more but then he would not have spares. The compressor portion are built like a tank and some have been around since the 1940's. More than likely the motor would go out sooner and that can be replaced. I hear NO ONE complaining that they bought a Sheldon Kidd compressor.

There is risk on all these compressors unless you are willing to drop $4k on a Bauer. I felt the Kidd was the most reliable after the Bauer. As I stated before, I am uncertain that the Omega's and Shoebox have effective dryers. You can purchase a dryer from Sheldon to add to the Shoebox and the Omega but then you have to add $500 to those purchases. I was leaning towards the Daystate, and time will tell the longevity of this one. Daystate is behind it but some of the oldtimers tell me this could be a 3 year compressor. There is risk there. There is also risk that I won't be able to get part for the Kidd.
I guess I will take my bet on an American made product when we built things to last!

I received one back in late September. I went from shoe box to a kidde 2.4 
I have the same package you ordered. It is nice to top off a tank in a few
Minutes. Instead of hours.
I have not heard one complaint on Jim's compressor's. That is why I 
Purchased one. So far I am well pleased.
Thies compressor's are noisy.
I time each fill so I can keep up with the hours. For oil change purposes.
Eventually I will have a pressure switch with a 30 amp contactor and
a hour meter. But for now it is all manual.

Looks like you will be buying a small tank now.,
Now I still use my great white tank , but I find myself grabbing the little football tank to fill my rifles with,
Just to drop you a wise word, Make sure its got good gauges like the ones on the great white.
Tell Joe B you want good gauges like came on the great white, toss that tank and keep the gauges , good for ever
I learned the hard way,,,,
Trust me that little mistake cost me big money,
