My new 100 cubic ft carbon fiber tank arrived from AOA. Took it to local scuba shop to get it filled, they won't fill carbon fiber tanks, WTF....
I was at least hoping to get a partial fill so my Omega compressor wouldn't have to run it all the way from empty. What a bummer.

aww that sucks, Mine says that they can only fill it to 4100 psi because their air reservoir is unstable. They also said it would take 5 hours to do it. :/

It has been 2 hrs. So far, it is up to 1200 psi. Scuba shop guy said they didn't know enough about cf tanks, they are afraid to fill them. Aluminum and steel only.

Update: All done, it took the Omega compressor a total of 6 hours. That is for a 100 cubic ft. Carbon fiber Omega tank from empty to 4500 psi. That scuba shop will never see me again. I'm all set now. 90cu.in. c guppy and a 100th cubic ft big tank, and my own compressor. I would call that Jumping into the dark side with both feet.

Did you have to lube anything on the Omega during the 6 hour run, or do you plan some maintenance now?
I've read that shoebox benefits from frequent greasing, and wonder how Omega compares.
