The skunk comes by quite often and cleans out my coon feeder. So I made the spout 30 mm longer hopefully that stops it. However today the skunk came by and got some food out but I don't think he cleaned it out. Hard for it to reach that far down. I refrain from shooting it because I don't want to stink up my backyard if I don't make a good shot or just unlucky.

Head shot , heart shot ,,they will spray. They are not as bad as coons but once food source is found they will repeat.

The skunk will not leave unless its food source is eliminated. From my experience, more skunks will probably show up. You'll have to kill it.

I have in the past I have shot them. Twice it smelled up the backyard. Once it was so bad neighbors over 200' away at 2am start looking out the window wondering where the smell is coming from. My wife was so pissed she was mad for more then a week! I don't want to risk a sink bomb. Shooting it is the easy part. Ensuring 100% that is doesn't spray is the hard part. Even if I get luck going for a heart/lung shot, I would have to search around the bushes trying to find the body before it decays and stinks up the neighborhood.
