I hate it when someone says just$547 or whatever for scope and it is something I never heard of and weighs over 28.8 oz.

But weight, the truth is I can not really afford it anyhow, plus there are plenty of scopes I know of that are great for less than $300. I admit I buy used ones a lot, why is because then I can afford the $547 scope I never heard of, but wait,I ain't getting it anyhow because I would rather have a used scope that is way lighter,of known quality and I can resell for what I paid for it.....just saying.

I feel ya bos,,I'll probably get run over for this BUT lol. What's with the 56mm objective,36 power, 33 flavors with adjustable caps scopes. IT'S AN AIR RIFLE SHOOTING PELLETS at a target 25 yds away. The rifles so top heavy it falls out of their hands like a drunk blond with triple D jugs falling off her bar stool.

They're good for ranging targets out to 55yds for Field Target. They're especially useful in sub 12fpe guns where holdover changes pretty drastically from one range to another, especially so at the 10-20yd ranges and 40-55yd ranges.

now i know i cant speak for everyone,

but i cant remember the last time i shot at something as close as 25yds lol

big objectives and higher powers let more light in and allow greater levels of precision at longer distances.

the weight of a scope is subjective,
for walking around a lighter one surely has its place.

myself i have no problem with a heavy scope,
my arken 6-24x50 weighs 36.6oz,
most of my shooting is from stationary positions around the farms i pest on,
so switching spots requires only to throw the gun in the case and drive to another area.

for me a heavier gun is easier to hold steady at longer distances.

Back in the day the Marin 60 .22rimfire came with a 4x scope,we had no problem getting 50-yard squirrel kills with that combo.
We did have young eyes and shot a lot, plus we only had to go a couple of blocks to shoot.
I am talking about a good scope to go hunting or target shooting with.
Back in the day, not many guys used scopes, and 4x was the popular one,7x-10 was high power.
As we get older we need more help, plus nowadays big tubes and Objective lenses are easy to get, that said if they were not people would make do with what they have. A few years ago 40mm 1" tubes were the tops, then 42,44mm, then 50MM and now what , spotting scopes mounted on your air rifle,LOL
I am being a bit facetious ,but that is the way I remember it,what about you?

When you can shoot well enough to know that that shot that just missed the 10 spot by 1/8 of an inch was your fault and not wind you'll be ready for a scope like that.
