I just bought the Vortex Venom 5-25x56

Update: Never mind, I decided to go another route 😅 😅 😅

I ordered a Taipan Veteran .25 a few nights ago and I thought I was going to hold off buying the scope for now. However, I saw that B&H has the Vortex Venom 5-25x56 for only $379. I'm setting up the Veteran .25 as a longer range option to my .22 version so I believe the 5-25 magnification range is good for it.

I love the SWFA 3-15x42 SS that I have on the Veteran .22. I've had it for 5 years and has been on 3 different rifles. As much as I love it though, I don't think it's worth the $500 I paid for it 5 years ago with all the options available now with MUCH BETTER feature sets. One of the major reason I landed on the SWFA is because at the time, there were very few scopes that offer a parallax that will go down below 10 meters or so. This one goes down to 6 meters. The Vortex Venom only goes down to 15 meters but since this setup will be for a longer range tune, I'm sure it will be ok. And yes, as a varmint rifle, I often find myself taking shots at 7 meters.

The purchase of the Vortex Venom is a bit of an impulse buy... But seeing such a low price on B&H, I just couldn't pass it up. Hopefully, I didn't make a mistake.

I got the same Vortex and have been quite pleased with it. I don’t really understand the backlash I’ve read about that optic, works great for me - especially at such a good price point.
Seems like doesn't matter what the hobby is... There's always many who hates on the popular stuff. One thing though, I always hear how great Vortex's warranty is.
