I maybe turning into an air gun hoarder

I got back into airguns before 2013 Christmas. I got my son a break barrel for the holidays from Wal-mart. He was like "meh", he would shoot with me but wasn't really into it. I was hooked, the cheap springer was quickly replaced with a better springer and that was quickly replaced by a PCP. I got my 1st PCP last April and now I have 7 including a couple of big bores. Now I'm thinking of one more PCP that I have to have, but haven't decided if I will sell one of the ones I own.

My goal is to own as many pcp air rifles at least one in each flavor, multiple compressors, hand pumps and air tanks and stacked lead and molds for ammo. My thought is, if there’s an annual shortage, I’m good no electricity I’m good. Government over reach on firearms I’m good.
@myfalconry And you went back to dig up an 8-year old thread to post this?

I sure did!!! Is there some rule I missed, that says there’s a time limit to add a response to a thread. I’m reading through threads on here, learning what’s going on, searching on topics of ammo, scopes, compressors and air guns. Among others… So I’m likely going to comment on other stuff that’s even older. I’m sorry if that offends. But that’s just the nature of the beast. At least this beast anyway. Have great night…

well old fool i could be but one with a lot of Air Guns but i collect pistols they take up less room

There was a time in the early years of this century when I owned over 20 air rifles, mostly springers. I enjoyed buying, selling, and customizing them and had over 200 sales including scopes. I've owned approximately 40 PCP's but never over 10 at the same time. In the past few years I've thinned the herd to 7 PCPs and 5 springers. I almost never use the springers but don't want to sell them. I became interested to learn about high pressure compressors early on and have my 7th one over a 20 year period. I have owned the last compressor for 4 years now and have no need for another upgrade. I haven't owned an air rifle over .25 caliber as I'd rather use a firearm for larger calibers or more power. Pellets and slugs larger than .25 caliber are too expensive compared to the cost to reload firearm ammo.

There were three airgun hoarders I knew of that each owned over 300 air guns. Two of them have passed away. The third one was a prolific poster on this forum who has gone zero dark thirty for the past couple of years.

I think this year will be slower for buying guns, but I've been gassing for an air compressor. I have 3 of the Scott 90 minute (87 cf) carbon fiber tanks I got for a steal off Craigslist and I get my air for free from a Fire Dept, but it would be nice to have an in-home compressor.
you get air free so now only decision would be which gun . or do you shoot all 3 tanks empty in one day ?

The nature of the gun market tends to turn people into hoarders. It's not so bad with airguns, but with powder burners, knowing that there might be an upcoming ban in the near future and the high resale value of many firearms, it just incentivizes people to buy what they feel will be a lifetime supply while they still have the chance. I think that airguns, muzzleloaders, crossbows and the like probably see a spillover effect from this.

Honestly, I bought a lot crazy stuff back in the day just because it was dirt cheap and I made a killing on a lot of it. I bought bakelight AK mags for under $2 each, but I had to order something like 80 of them to get that price. Now I'm at the point where I'm realizing I have no use for 5 Mosin Nagants and 3 cases of corrosive 8mm from the 1950s, but fortunately for me they are still in demand.
