I need help with my Fx turbo hand pump

Hey there. I'm having two issues with my fx turbo hand pump:

  • Noticeable less air with each stroke
  • When i stop pumping with the handpump still attached to the rifle, the handle starts to rise slowly by itself as if air was getting pass the check valve inside the pump

When it comes to handpumps my knowledge is almost 0, so any detailed help will be much appreciated! I have no idea what are the orings i have to raplace are or even worse, i've no idea how the disassemble the pump pass the pic below in order to check wich are the damaged orings.

I'm still struggling to understand the drawings so once again, any help will be appreciated.

Regards, Manuel

P.s where i live there are no fx dealers so send it to repair is not even an option

I've always used silicone grease in order to lube the shaft, so no issues there. My biggest problem is the 1st one since the second one seems not that hard to solve. The thing is i've no idea how to get inside the pump... quite a problem considering i have to do change some orings hahaha

It's going to be VERY hard for someone to describe how to take it apart over the forum. I have done Benji's, G4, and Hill but not an FX so can't hep with personal knowledge. They all work on the same principle. The handle will have to come off. Not sure if that top "bolt" unscrews, to remove the handle but under it there is a pin which attaches to the inner most shaft. Once you have the top part off the brass nut in bottom of your pic will unscrew from the black tube. Then you work your way to the inner shafts.

Once you have it apart your culprit is most likely the oring on the inner most shaft. This is the highest pressure part of the pump and most likely to fail first.

I would think the poster above me should be able to explian it to you as his post shows part of the disassembly process so he somehow got the handle off to get inside.

Biggest reason for failure is pumping too fast, building heat. Pump slowly and rest the pump between strokes a second.(At bottom and top)

I've always pumped slowly, bleeding and letting cool every 50 strokes aprox. This pump was bought exactly 2 years ago and pumped my 480cc tank many times over that time, no maintainance was done other than change the silica gel and lube the shaft when needed so i think the orings just have handled as long as they could. So no complains to fx here.

I'll try to work on the pump with the help BigTinBoat and dgiannandrea have gave me, i'll keep you updated guys and if any question comes to my mind (probably will 😁) i'll let you know.

+1 to both for your time

Regards, M

Update:

I was able to solve the second problem by changing the check valve oring, pretty easy task if it wasn't for the loctite on every thread i find. But... in regards to the second problem i couldn't solve a thing, the pump still beeing a tough rival to disassemle.

On thw top side of the pump the handle does not slide off as i supposed it would (since no threads are seen on the drawings) so i guess there might be some threads in there, the thing is just as the previous two this one seems to be loctited as well. So, if i apply heat with my heatgun, couldn't that damage all the orings inside?

OTOH on the buttom part of the pump the brass piece doesn't wanna screw off either wich leads me to the same cuestion, wouldn't heat ruin all internal orings? Nice move on this one Fx. It's even harder considering on both sides there's no good place to hold on in order to apply torque and break the loctite, since some pliers on the silver tube could be the worst idea ever. I attach some pics of my current situation. Any help will be extremly apreciated 😉
