Shooting skunks with 30 cal will cause them to spray. A 22 in the motor usually results in taking a few steps, tettering over and no spray.

If you go with a .22, all you really need is a NOTOS and a Hand Pump. Very budget friendly, noise friendly, and with an inexpensive scope would more than get the job done. Perfect is the enemy of good enough.

I have a Notos in .22 and a Vevor compressor. I was concerned that .22 would not be enough for a humane kill.

NOTOS will kill them quickly and as humanly as your accuracy allows. At the range you are talking about and with a headshot, they will never know what hit them.
