I see Ted just posted some groups on Facebook!

Originally I was going to start this post and title it something like "Groups shot this morning at 50 yards" but I see Ted's and my efforts were nearly identical so I'm going to ride his coat tails a bit haha. Hope you don't mind Ted! (besides, you got yours on camera, I'm asking everyone to just take my word for it haha)

Of course Ted was using his Impact, I am shooting my Royale 500. Also, I think he's shooting the JSB Heavies, MKI and I was shooting the regular JSB 25 kings so not totally the same. I can't get the Heavy MKI's to group so well in my gun but I'm not knowledgeable enough about regulators to be able to adjust the velocity in my gun like he can to try different speeds for accuracy.

The group on the right is 31 shots. I shot the first two shots at a completely different spot on the cardboard just to make sure the regulator was "bedded in" or whatever you want to call it after filling the gun. My old Royale used to need a couple of shots to get up to velocity for some reason. This new Royale doesn't seem to have that problem but old habits die hard I guess so maybe with time I'll learn to trust the first couple of shots.

The next 31 shots from the three full mags went into that one hole on the right. I have three magazines so I had them all loaded before hand so that I could keep my hold and line of site on the gun while switching mags so as to not affect my POI. I was going to attempt 40 shots in a row, but after sitting up from the gun and filling another magazine, I figured there might be a chance that easing into the shooting position again might yield a different hold on the gun and change my POI. So I chickened out and shot the 4th and last mag into the hole on the left. In retrospect, it looks like I would have been able to put all 40 shots in the same hole, but I'll take it none the less!

Anyway here they are! One of these days I'm going to get a camera setup for proof so that when I make posts like this I won't have that nagging voice in the back of my head telling me that half the people reading this think I'm full of crap lol

I would hope that all the posts I've made about guns that I can't get to group well would give me some credibility that when I find one that does, I'm telling the truth. ;-)

very nice I was actually considering the same gun as my..next gun lol I am shooting the Independence 22 now and absolutely love it but I would like to own a true PCP as well ...something that hits hard very accurate and gives me at least 40 or better yet 50+ shots on a fill as I hunt a lot of pigeons and starlings/grackles/sparrows but i seam to shoot somewhere in between 40 and 50 shots on a good day.
I sure think that this could be the one!
Thanks for sharing with us!

"fuznut"Ha! We believe ya. Question did you ever shoot the gun without a reg?
If so can you tell a difference? 40 shots no flyers NICE!!!
Thanks for the vote of confidence everyone!

Fuz, I've never had the opportunity to shoot the gun without a regulator. I've heard it does pretty well for an unregulated gun but I truly believe regulators make a huge difference.

For what it's worth, while I walked away from the bench today feeling like a million bucks, it didn't start out all roses. I'll try to get the pics up of the rest of the groups I shot later.

While I was able to get this "super group", it sometimes takes a bit of work and patience and trying different things to get there.

Ahhh consistency and accuracy, what fickle mistresses :)

AndyNice shooting, man! Very nice! Hang that over the ole work bench for inspiration.

Thanks Andy! I think you might have just inspired me to go for a "grail" group.

Now I want to try to get 50 shots in a hole like that, only I want to get it on camera.

Then I'll frame that group and hang it. Thanks a lot, now I have to go buy a camera setup! Lol

"AG72"Nice shooting! The problem with getting a small group is that when you shoot, the hole gets bigger and bigger cause your aiming point disapear and you slightley aim at different places, just a little different but the hole gets bigger, my thoughts that im gonna try is to either put something shining behind the target center, or a nail maybe
AG, no need for the shiny thing or the nail. All you have to do is adjust your scope a bit so that your point of aim is different from you point of impact. You can see in the photo I posted, that the groups are positioned slightly above the target dot on the cardboard. I was aiming at the dot for every shot and my scope was adjusted so the the pellets would hit above where I was aiming so that I would never lose my point of aim.
