N/A I think I've reached a tipping point...

It seems that I am getting a lot of good suggestions for some fine spring piston rifles. As much as I have always loved them, I think my future is going to be PCP's with only the R7 remaining. I just rebuilt the R7 for the fourth time with a new ARH spring and piston seal. The R7 is so easy to work on and that is a great reason to keep it for the times the PCP has to be sent off for service.

Yep, that's the way I do it but I usually drop every third pellet in the action and have to turn it upside down and shake it out.
Awe!
Well I don't know how old everyone is but I am near 69. I have one shoulder replacement, and my doctor said I'll see you shortly for the other one.
I said don't even talk like that!
I have arthritis and my knuckles hurt, but I shoot nearly daily thinking it's good physical therapy.
Im also still an active musician on lead guitar so I just keep pushing and enjoy it while I can.

I similarly got bored/tired with loading one pellet at a time. All I need is an airgun for pesting and occasional target shooting, with my son.

So I went semi-automatic. I got the Edgun Leshiy 2. Is it perfect? No, but I love having such a small and packable gun. It's accurate-enough for what I need, and in three years of regular use it's required essentially no maintenance.

The 97 has other issues for me, it's heavy and my old fingers really struggle to put those tiny pellets in the barrel. It is one rifle I will really miss though.
I’m 77 and cocking is indeed a challenge. I’m doing some shoulder exercises that are helping. As for loading, I’m using a pellet pen.

At 78 I am starting to reach a point where spring piston rifle are not going to work for me much longer. The HW97k is only a five shot rifle before I really struggle to cock it and I can feel the pain in my shoulder and elbow on the first cock. Even my little R7 starts hurting my shoulder and elbow after only 25 shots. I've decided to get rid of the HW97k but the R7 will stay as the grandson loves it. I also have an AirForce TalonSS but the ergonomics puts to much strain on my old neck so it must go. Guess I will be looking for another PCP.
I hear you as well. I had to sell my RWS 34 for that reason. Even my FWB 124D ached my shoulder after awhile.
I am also down to a R7 that I switch back and forth cocking from left and right handed. I'm 67 years old.

@Teep - One door shuts, another opens. I suggest looking at the wares on Airgun Revision's website. He has some really nice rifles, pistols and carbines.

PCP's are fun, get one that shoots cheap .22 Crosman pellets and a compressor.
