I whacked my M3’s probe

Our club requires ECI’s in all firearms and airguns so inserted .080” weed trimmer line into the breach. My M3 was cocked, so I could insert the ECI and I accidentally pressed the trigger causing the probe to launch forward and whack the ECI. I didn’t realize the probe was so fragile. Lesson learned…

Ouch! ;^(

You may be able to find something like a punch or nail set, that has an angle on it, and cut it off where the diameter comes close to a match with the probe and punch it back into shape. Then when you get it close to the correct diameter at the opening just finish it off with a rod that has the diameter you need.

Probly worth a try anyway as it is useless the way it is.

I considered trying to straighten it but not only is it out of round but it is pushed backwards too. Instead I just bought a new one and chalked it up to one of those life learned lessons. I was running a match and shooting in it too so I had a lot of things on my mind. I actually thought I had it loaded and that’s why I pulled the trigger. Duh…

Those chamber flags don't do us airgunners any favors for sure.

I sometimes forgets to push my cocking lever forward after removing the flag. Pulling the trigger with the action opened will often bend the pin on the cocking block. I finally replaced the cocking block, on my Gen1 Impact, after countless times of doing this in the over 12,000 rounds I have put through this thing.

The pin was bent and the hole was egged out. My Bad evil me. ;^)

Sometimes we just have to replace things.

You could also dent your hammer. I would not shoot the gun without checking that. Otherwise you can scratch the block in which the hammer works.

How does it dent your hammer or scratch the block the probe doesn't support anything air would just come out both ends of barrel ??? I'm curious about it not trying to be a smart ass just try to understand the impact the best I can

alot of parts are thin and bend real easy I saw alot of things with different platforms , I own impacts ,mavericks and other fx guns , I too wonder what dent hammer means , I think only thing which can happen if you shoot gun and the bolt is not fully closed would be the pins on the cocking lever ,

I think you found weak link , the probe took the shock of it , you will be fine , and wead wacker is like a oring it can move and compress ,Some guns built like tanks and some more fragile .

the cocking block, hammer pin on the MK1s, will put dents in your hammer, when you fire the gun with the action opened, mine had several when I opened it up. So, I spun it up in the mini-lathe and turned it down a few thousandths till the dents were gone. Then I dressed up the edges so they were not sharp.

You don't posed to pull the trigger when the action is open. ;^(

With a 3D printer I wonder if someone could(would) print a trigger block. It would go behind the trigger blocking it from accidental pull. I know there are some for the Glock platform for use in pocket carry. This idea may excel in the air gun world by not allowing a trigger to be pulled. And said person made it sorta adjustable instead of airgun specific that would be better. This way we wouldn’t freak out with cocked and open but would still comply with the chamber flag rules. Food for thought.
