Tuning Ideas for Tuniinig artemis M11/M22 5.5mm airgun

These are high quality guns at a ridiculous price. Silent too, with 2 hair curlers wrapped in felt into the m22 shroud (telescope it out slightly). The guns already come with a plenum extension that the stock reg is screwed into. This enables high power with a reasonable reg set point. Mine in .25 are very accurate at 100m at 70j, i.e. fairly fast shooting with the heavy JSB King MK-II.

The stock reg on my .25 m11 is very consistent after I opened it up and lubed it with silicone grease. I replaced the stock reg on my m22 with an Audrius but that was probably not necessary.

Also check the o rings where the barrel goes into the breech, mine on the m11 needed replacing to prevent air blow-by. I also ended up replacing the hammer spring with a shorter dual spring in order to eliminate hammer bounce.

The trigger parts need some shimming + mild polishing. The set screws also need to be adjusted to make it a very nice, light and predictable 2 stage.

Im planning on hunting ground squirrels at more than 70m min because they are to used to being shot at had a .177 that at 50m i could still hit them effectively but not all shots were humane and for me that is a big factor if hunting i want it to be humane even if its for pest control. and I'm trying to tune the gun for JSB Knockouts 25gr. I have not tried FX Hybrid slug but where im at they are difficult to get and very very expensive prob worth 4 tins of 250 Hades pellets.

The M22 is great. I have a extra plenum installed from Xtreme Airguns. It gives me 50fpe at full power. To shoot slugs...

I tapred the lead of the barrel. Sand it with cone shaped sandpaper until slug slips in easy. You can make a tool with a drill, but be careful and make sure you stay centre. You don't need lands in the barrel at the breech. You want the slug to ingage the rifling smooth and straight. Don't go to deep because sanding makes burrs on the rifling. Push a pellet through often to see the progress. Note rough spotes in the barrel and pollish the barrel with normal metal pollish and a cleaning rod with cloth on it. Don't go to hard near the muzzle. Once done a pellet should be able to be pushed through smoothly with a constant force. Re do the crown.

I shoot KO slugs in .216 very accurate at 800fps. At that same power setting it would shoot any .217 slug from 23grn to 30grn in a inch or less at 50m. It does that with a whole mag and no flyers. That power level gives plenty of shots and the KO slugs gives me a similar trajectory at 800fps as the 18grn pellets would give at 930fps.

It took me very long to get to this point, but the M22 is the perfect bace and the unchoked barrel is very good with a bit of work.

If you don't have money for a FX, Spa/Artimes/Smk/Snowpeak is the best barrels for slugs.

Other berrels that shoot slug include LW 12groove and CZ. Longer barrels are a lot more efficient though.

A bit of a late reply, but my M22 is lazer accurate with all alugs from 22grm to 30grn. I bought the gun second hand with a LW poly barrel and power tune with added plenum. The poly barrel was no good. It might be the bad machining at the breach. I foud a cheap M22 barrel and did a pollish and recrown and it is super. Now with a Huma reg also added it is as accurate as the best. I'm shooting pigeons at 160M and more with KO slugs at 895fps. Might be more accurate than my friends FX M3.

Push a pellet through your barrel. Pollish out the rough and tight spots with mettal pollish and do the crown. Make a plan with the loading port so that a slug can go in easy and straight, with out pressure in to the rifling.

Your gun will be accurate with slags at low and high speeds if done well. Those unchoked barrels seems to shoot slugs better than pellets. I had very good sweat spot at 760fps.
