Identify my powermaster 760

Hey guy good to talk to you.

I've rebuilt the valve ...all o-rings installed but still no pressure build-up. I've rebuilt this rifle once before with good results, that is it worked great. This time no-go. I figure the front end of the piston assembly is worn...the cup and felt. I'm working on getting a brand new assembly as we speak...and a new (new/old) brass bolt.

I forgot to ask...I can see a piece of what looks like a piece of steel tubing about a half an inch long in the end of the sear spring against the sear block stop. I don't see/find it on any of the exploded views of the rifle or on the parts list. Would you know what it's for or why someone might have installed it?

Hello, I am in need of assistance identifying the year and variant of a Powermaster 760 that I acquired some years ago. I am looking for all the parts that I may need to rebuild and possibly restore it. I believe it is a variant 3. It has a plastic stock and wooden forearm, brass bolt and trigger. It also has a hooded front sight.One

of the differences that I have noticed that I haven't seen is that it doesn't have a roll pin holding the pump arm to the Piston rod assembly, it is a pin with a c-clip. The serial number is 05827058. Any help with identifying this thing and advice on where to purchase all the parts that I might need would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again for your time and help.

Looking at the serial number, it looks like May 78 or 82? Never saw a flattened front sight hood, let alone a hooded sight on a 760 period. And I have 11. Looks like the forestock off the 760 Revelation I also have from the 70's.

Now, the dilemma starts here. July 77 production " phase I" serial numbers started with, 777----- to 883-----. Starting in 1980, Phase II serial numbers started with 880----- to D83 or or 1283. Here are the parts diagrams and parts lists;

Phase I;

Like a couple of mine, the serial numbers just do not fit with the year(s) I know them to be?

My 760 does not have a legible serial number where it should be it looks like the numbers didn't get stamped properly. It has a metal receiver, plastic bolt, windage screws, grooved receiver for scope mount and the stock and fore stock are plastic. Oh and the rifle says its model number is 760-A and made by Coleman.

I need to get a new seal kit but I need to make sure u get the right parts.

Any help would be appreciated. 

Update mine looks similar to this one in pic I found online.

Does it have a square tang? Grooves for a scope? If you look at the front of the pump pivot, there may be a couple of numbers on it. Those will indicate year and month.

Just inherited this Crosman powermaster 760. It has the ribbed forestock...brass bolt and trigger and is very nice condition and shoots. My dilemma is dating it. I know thru research that it was made 1966-70. And I learned that the serial number is stamped on the barrel ring and should contain 3...

Actually I do see 2 differences in mine then the one in this post
My receiver where it attaches to the stock has a square outie
and I see an 8 on mine where the post gun has a 10

The round tang means it was the second flavor of the first variant. They had square tangs if made anytime in 1966 or early in 1967. Round tangs from the second half of 1967 all the way through V4. The picture of the front barrel guide but it should be two digits. The first digit is the year and the second digit is the month. That might be a 1 0 which would mean January 1970. The corn cob stock identifies it as a Varient 1 so it would have to have been manufacyured between the second half of 1967 and the first half of 1970.

Nope. An 8 digit serial number means nothing. The date encoded serial numbers are 9 digits. Look for numbers stamped into the front barrel guide (the cap pn the front end of the pump tube. What is the stock and forearm made of. Id the fore stock smooth or check patterned/

Yep that’s the guy I bought my crosman parts from, he had stuff nobody else had.

I rebuilt my 766 several years ago and got the parts from the guy mentioned up in this thread.
I did all the mods, new probe with oring, and seals between the barrel and valve, trigger job, reblued everything. There was several things done inside to make it seal better and make more power, I forget what all I did. But it will do 700fps or better with a 7.33 jsb with 10 pumps. There was a guy on the forums or internet that had all these mods he did to valves and other stuff, and made crazy power with the old pumpers. I can’t remember his name, but if you search you’ll probably come across him.
