If I could do it over...?
Well,
shortly after I realized that airgunning for me was a bit more serious hobby than a monthly basketball get-together —
➊ I started looking for a
cheap do-it-all gun: pesting, hunting, 100y, short & light — and cheap!(Because spending a four-digit amount on a hobby seemed a waste....)
My wife was OK with that.
So I got it on AGN.
And it felt so good.
➋ Then, I started looking for the
high-end do-it-all gun: pesting, hunting, 100y, short & light — and durable high quality! (Because fixing stuff in Peru is hard.)
My wife was OK with that.
So I got it on AGN.
And it felt so good.
➌ Then, I began to have several guns that could do one thing better than another: One was still a do-it-all gun, another was an anihilator for pesting, another was a stealth gun no-one would see nor hear.
So, then I started looking for
specific task guns: An
extreme long range gun was still on my wish list.
My wife was OK with that — since an AGN buddy made me a deal I couldn't refuse.
So, I got it from that AGN member.
And it feels so good.
If I could do it over...? I don't think certain things can be rushed:
My committment to airgunning as far as time and money and effort is concerned has been growing over the years —
there is no way I could have started out expecting to spend the time, and money, and effort I am spending now on this hobby.
➠ So, I think my growth was natural & healthy. And I have started to sell off guns and scopes that were great for a previous period of my airgunning — but I now have better gear — for which I am very thankful.
I don't think I will ever have a gun closet full of guns that never get shot....
I rather sell them to my Peruvian airgun buddies — they are happy to buy something from me that they otherwise would not be able to buy in the country....
Again, I am very thankful that my son got me into the airgunning hobby — the amount of fun I have had with it is hard to overestimate.
