If the Avenger can remain reliable it will be the budget PCP to buy!

ABOUT CROSMAN PELLETS. I see a lot of guys using the .22 Crosman HPs, presumably because they are cheap and can be bought at WalMart. My .22 Hatsan FlashPup does not like them but it loves the Crosman 14.3 domed ultra magnum ones which are $9.89 at my local Tractor Supply Co. Cabelas also carries them for a couple dollars more. They shoot just as good as, or slightly better, then any of the JSB ones I have tried and it sure is nice not to have to order them. Give'um a try.

According to Steve the Avenger loves a lot of different pellets including the Crosman Domes but it does not like HPs. I have Domes on order but have to wait a bit.

Ordered a .22 Avenger from PA a couple weeks ago. Looks like I'm waiting until the 9/15 shipment because I drug my feet for a couple extra days. 😒

Either way, I'm really stoked to get this rifle. This will be my first PCP and it appears like it will be worth the wait!

I know it has not been a long time, but so far it looks like you decided to buy your first PCP at the right time. This gun is going to spoil a lot of people with its low cost and all its power and features.

I have the .25 cal Avenger and I love it! Started with the .25 Marauder nice but heavy. Got a Fx impact pre power plenum, it was the biggest waste of money. Had to do too much for a $3500 new gun with scope. I end up getting rid of it. The Avenger is better than both of them, as far as hole in hole and decent power for hunting. Before any of you Fx fan boys start talking crap. I talking affordability. No it's not a Ferrari but it's a Vehicle that will get you there for a modest amount of money. I honestly think the Avenger will reach more people that aren't fortunate enough to pay a ransom for a gun and different caliber barrels that need modifications before you can use them. If it doesn't last I'll definitely spend the money for another one. Most of everything you put your hands on comes from China. But companies put their names on it and charge you three times the price.

Steve's vlog tuning video, that or his review on the regular AEAC channel, he says he's not keen on this in .25 because models made for a span of calibers, like in this case .177, .22 and .25, tend not to change to accomodate the greater power needs of a .25. The shot count and useable shot count, I think he means, would be lower, as the tank is the same size. Perhaps the hammer spring tension too, I dunno. I'm just a newbie.

But what do you guys think about that? Is this a notably better gun in .22 than .25? I'm pretty sure I'll buy one or the other, but wonder, for instance, if I'd be better off buying a .25 for larger game or a .22 and maybe just using heavier bullets or a more powerful tune. Opinions?

I thought Steve said he wasn't sure if these guns were valved differently per caliber. If they are indeed the same his opnion is that .22 is likely the best of all three and that the .25 won't make much more power than a .22

That said, I've seen post on Facebook from .25 users that are getting higher FPE than Steve was with his .22

Side note, the mags suck (can be improved with Krazy glue) but the rifle itself is still doing awesome 1000 rounds later. 1/2" groups at just over 25 yards with cheap Crosman Hollow Points.

That's what I been doing with mine trying to thin out the tree rats. They chewed their way into attic and the war is just about over. I would recommend a harder pellet than the jsb kings. If shooting father than 30yards, but the Benjamin Domed, H&N Hunter Extreme & Baracuda gets the job done with one shot. Haven't tried anything thing else because I had so many tins already.
