Tuning If you think you broke your Airforce Texan **READ THIS!**

Okay. Listen up. I bought a new RMPA trigger for my Texan, installed it, then tested the trigger. The bolt slide forward without my valve in. I knew it was stupid to do, but I was too excited to test the trigger. The gun immediately started to act weird and cooked with grinding force. I thought a broke it because the automatic safety would not dis-engauge and the gun was jamming. Then when it did get the safety to work, it would not cock.

I lost several nights of sleep over this. I thought the externals were broken and would have to buy a new gun. I thought it was a major failure.

Then I calledl Doug from Maddog stocks. He told me to remove this piece.

Thus piece is what makes the safety automaticly engage. It is located at the top pin at the trigger assembly. I took it out and ALL strange issues were gone! IMMEDIATELY!

It is hard to believe that little piece was causing all my issues, but it was.

I HOPE THIS INFO HELP YOU ALL!

All righty then!

Remove trigger "blade" and safety "blade" 1/16" hex. Mine was crazy tight one screw on the safety stripped the hex and had to be removed with wice grips.

"Theres no pic!"

Here's the innards, please note the positions of the springs, they are different!

Tap out the set pin for the transfer bar (i used a small torx bit to do this. From right side with all the print.

Remove transfer bar
DSCN0108 s.jpg

Tap out this pin
DSCN0109 s.jpg

And your auto reset transfer thingamajig will rattle out

Assemble in reverse order and try to index the pins with the indentations in the frame.
This is what a pin looks like and you see the splines and why they have to go out from right to left and why it's best to try to index then again in the holes.

If this is still foggy, holler and i'll try to explain and take more pics.

So right now I’m trying to sort my Texan out, I was shooting it the other day I fired two shots and when I went to load the third one, the charging handle went down, but my safety and trigger was stuck The charging handle is also stuck in the closed position. Do you think that part is what’s causing the problem?
