@elittle1234 I think the LRF is decent. I tested it out in some fog tonight. It has trouble reading distance in thick fog. I was getting 5 and 8 yard readings on trees that previously read 45 and 50 yards. But the thermal sensor picks up animals good through fog. What do you think of the LRF? I think it's really accurate for what i do, mostly shooting rats with it on a p-rod at the moment.
Yeah, fog or small twigs can be a real pain. If it's windy and a leaf blows in front of it, it will throw it off also.@elittle1234 I think the LRF is decent. I tested it out in some fog tonight. I was on my lawn with it on a shooting stick for 30 minutes. I was so still a skunk had walked up behind me and was eating stuff in the grass. I had to wait for it to move away and started walking and it like crouched down and stuck his ass in the air. there is nothing like seeing that glowing shape of an animal that would normally be invisible though, it's crazy.
@elittle1234 Good thing you didn’t get sprayed. That’s no fun. What sort of camera did you grab that photo from?
It's a wired cctv PTZ camera that scans my yard. I have a giant IR spotlight back there which is why you can see so clearly.@elittle1234 Good thing you didn’t get sprayed. That’s no fun. What sort of camera did you grab that photo from?
i’ve caught a lot of animals on thermal video and photos. They’re interesting to watch. Using the Thermion as opposed to a night visions scope will take some getting used to.
