Illinois Law Question: Propelling .177 Cal. Pellets Over 700 FPS

Good, honest Americans simply need to stop “complying“ with unConstitutional, unjust laws… Constitutional Carry is the law and already acknowledged by 27 States… Too many petty tyrants…
Unfortunatly many people vote for more Government even into their bedroom. Not even constitution can protect aganist this...

Basically agree w u guys.
Whats happening is more than just citizens dropping the ball though. Its more like the Hitchhikers Guide when they're told theres going to be an intergalactic freeway put thru where Earth is located, and that the notification has been on display in the basement of Intergalactic headquarters for the required amount of time.

Yeah. I'm ignorant tho reguardless. Lots of reason to put my head in the sand. Few people take account for all of the issues that dont effect them, I mean thats just how it is and its a problem when disaster strikes but usually its ok not to worry about things that dont relate too much to you. I know morally that sounds bad but we are all doing it, this very second.

Wanted to update. AOA and PA are both happy to ship me the Virtus PCP. Even Sig would have shipped it, I passed their location check. Most of IL is ok except a few counties and cities. Amazon, walmart and all local big chains have issues. The big chains all claim any .22 caliber needs a foid. I WAS TOLD BY ONE REVEALING MANAGER THAT THE STATE POLICE ADVISED THEY NOT SELL ANY .22 PELLET GUNS THIS YEAR BECAUSE IF THIS LEGAL DISCREPANCY. Which is based on utter nonsense and not the law so its just a series of warnings to FFLs and decisions made by legal teams. He agreed that was the case and wash ashamed he was so limited. Illinois is apparently choking itself out. I imagine the cops coming in, off duty, trashing the sporting goods store managers office, smashing his thumb with a hammer and yelling "ARE YOU GONNA KEEP SELLIN .22 PLINKERS? HUH? YOU THINK YOU CAN JUST SELL ANY AIRGUN YOU WANT? SCREW YOUR LAW WE DONT NEED YOUR LAW WE ARE THE LAW? (takes his wallet and takes out the ID) SO, WE KNOW WHERE YOU LIVE. Etc.."

Without talking to police yet, I am fully confident in buying a 700fps or less .22 plinker thanks to affirmations of the two biggest distributers I know and by Sig, the actual maker, who make firearms and would not dare threaten that status by selling airguns illegally.

Also, we just had a big shift in firearm law here in IL as of yesterday. All AR firearms had to be registered. Some .22 semiautos I think were exempted. Airguns are for sure exempted, unless they meet our requirement for a firearm. An AR style semiauto airgun in any caliber is still legal in IL as long as does not shoot over 700fps. Done deal. Moving on. The ILPolice website has an update posted on all the new adopted law. I note probably any airgun that would fit these standards was already over 700fps thus already required a foid. Not much change for airgunners.

I can not wait to get my virtus. I'm super excited.
PA refused to sell guns to me. I'm 100 east of you. I buy from those who will sell to me. WE MUST REFUSE TO COMPLY!

i purchased a Notos from U/air & had to have it sent to a FFL dealer & i am in a little town 84 miles west of ( Chicago which is the main problem) i am old enough to remember before Foid cards were even thought up yet.., i used to buy 22 LR , rifles & pistols= no wait time & no foid cards..

I suggest Illinoisans contact their IL congressmen about their dilemma the combination of FOID and PICA have caused, and push to have airguns removed from the FOID act. Our concerns are more relevant now than ever. I have contacted my congressmen, but one voice doesn’t accomplish much.

Complaining about the situation on a forum changes nothing, but real advocacy can possibly make a difference.
