Other I'm right-handed, but I prefer charging handle on the left side. Am I doing it wrong?

My RTI Prophet come in left hand only configuration. It took me all of one magazine to decide that left is the way to go.
Never had RTI Prophet, but I'm glad to hear that it allows for left-handed configuration and that I'm not alone in this preference for left side location of the charging handle. And it looks like I'm not alone by far, lots of people refer the charging handle to be on the left side looks like,

It does not allow for it, It is the only configuration on RTI guns. But that is fine by me because I prefer it on the left.

Guys, is it only me or is it really more convenient to have a charging handle on the left side? I'm right-handed, and recently I got in my hands a couple of Marauder bullpups that were converted to left side charging handle. Before swapping them out to the right side, I tried shooting them and it actually feels good. Especially for bullpup configuration. I don't need to let go of the pistol grip with my right hand and can keep the rifle sighted, while with the left hand I can feed the next round. I wonder if anyone has the same experience and prefers the charging handle to be on the left side instead of the right. Thanks guys!
My AirMaks Caimen X is set up with a left hand cocking lever and I have no problem with it. All the other rifles are right hand cock and I am used to that and never in a hurry with follow-up shots, so taking my hand off the pistol grip and my eye away from the scope is not something with which I am concerned. Many of my rifles have sing shot loaders on them anyway, which I prefer over magazine fed.

I shoot right handed, but essentially run the rifle with my left hand. The only thing my right hand does, is press trigger and flick bolt. So, I prefer the handle on the right side. If I were “speed shooting”, I’d still have the bolt on the right…. but it would be a semi-auto, so it wouldn’t really matter.

I also shoot a lot of bolt action powder burners. I’d hate to need a quick follow-up…. Only to reach up with my left hand looking for that lever.

If you have to come off the target to reload with either hand, then you’re not doing it right.

To each their own, but I like the bolt on the side it’s supposed to be on.

You can’t operate charging handle on the right side without coming off your target. With semi-auto rifles it’s not a problem as the only time you need to let go of the grip is when you need to swap a mag and cock it. With single shot you have to do it after every shot. If we are talking about firearms than I must note that I always liked HK delight with forward charging handle on the left side. But I totally understand and respect tat everyone has own preference :).

I’ve got several through scope videos that would prove you very wrong with that statement…. and have seen many, many more.

I run right handed with right side handle and almost never lose target on a reload. My right thumb never even leaves the grip while running the lever, and the left hand provides support/tension to keep the rifle where it is.

I know that personally, I can shoot fast with greater accuracy with a right side lever than a left side lever.

Thank you for sharing your point of view, appreciate your input! The whole point of this thread is to actually understand what works the best and is the best practice here. I am right-handed myself and was shooting with right side charging handle the entire life :). The whole reason why I posted this question here is that I very was surprised that it actually felt good and convenient using a rifle with a handle on the left side, which was something unexpected for me.

Its never wrong as long as you feel good doing it that way

I’ve switched to left hand rifles and having the cocking lever on the right is pretty convenient so this makes sense to me.

It seems to be the trend nowadays. Unfortunately I can't stand it. I ended up buying the Vulcan 3 because Mora was left hand cocking only.
Personally I absolutely need mine on the conventional side. On the right side, which doesn't necessarily mean You have yours wrong.
It's a good thing these evolve but I believe Rok made a pretty bold move in making a lefty only. I hope it pays out.

It's all personal preference and shooting style. When shooting from a bench with good support, I believe most shooters could be comfortable with the operating lever or bolt on either side. If shooting seated or prone using a bipod or shooting stick, a lot of folks prefer the weak-side lever or bolt. With the front supported, the shooting hand can remain in control of the rear without repositioning after each shot. Since the trigger hand remains on the pistol grip, safety protocol is important.
