Immersive Optics

Just saw this thread. I just recently purchased a 12X50 MTC S.W.A.T. from AoA. Bought it pre-owned for a very good price. Mounted it on my P-Rod. Works great with a very wide field of view. The mount has the MOA adjust just like the Immersive Optic model, but I have my set to zero and the turrets have plenty of required adjustment to get me on target.

I bought one 14x50 last spring (bought it through a middle man from Ireland), use it on my Leshiy2 for couple months, I liked the glass clarity, but it did not fit well the eye relief, also I could not fit it in a bag with that scope hanging at the rear... I sold it late summer last year.
Since then I tried six other scopes and LPVO on the L2 - with a much better comfortable eye relief, but the glass .... no one scope glass came close to the IO 14x50.
I would buy again the new 5x30 Pro has a long eye relief, but I just cannot get used to small power scopes... at least 10x

Finally got my 14x50 yesterday but got it from Bushwear in the UK for less. Sports and Outdoors is just a poor incompetent company to deal with. Communication is slow and spotty. I just sold the 10x40 for a small loss just so I didn't have to deal with SnO anymore. I emailed Immersive Optics to let them know I wouldn't want this company selling my product and their shady appearing business practicies. Lesson learned.

Fwiw the rear overhang not fitting comfortably in my backpack on the L2 drove me nuts too.

"how it stacks up against the original 5x30"

The mounting is moved forward considerably and this already good enough for me to call the L2+IO finally - portable/packable.
I've been thinking of getting one of these for the Evol for small game hunting. My only reservations being there's no ballistic turret for dialing up elevation for taking longer shots, and always adjusting parallax before taking aim on a moving critter. What do you think...

The limitation to accurate holdover looks to be 6 Mil, and that equates to roughly around 100 yards, depending on the tune, projectile and BC. Probably not so much an issue at pellet rifle distance, but how do you like it?

Also the parallax adjustment is nice for target shooting, but how do you like it for taking quick, varied distance shots hunting or pesting? Is it really blurry of not in focus or can it be set to say 40 yards and then a good eye placement work for different distances, like with any fixed parallax scope?

I've been thinking of getting one of these ...
I had the 14x50 with MD reticle in 2020 for several months, I liked the glass incredible value, the very fine and accurate parallax focus, the wide FoV, but I didn't liked the extreme short eye relieve. The scope was mounted to my L2 and it was hanging out at back (stock folded or removed) I could not pack it safely in a bag and even a hard case was an issue. Also access to the mag was very limited. I traded it, but later years I regret selling it.
This was the 14x50 mounted to L2 (cheapest throw lever from amazon, the bushing 3d printed), short eye relieve you can see how far back need to be mounted:

Since then I swap several LPVO's, mostly for same issue how to mount to L2.
For target - range shooting with L2 I set up a Nikko 8-32x60 Nighteater and this marriage is working well for 22LR silhouettes and up to 70 target rings.
This summer I came up with a need for a short distance action scope again... I have four large walnut threes in my backyard, and if I want to defend my investment I had to come up with a better plan. I modified one older low value chinese scope for short distances, which worked pretty well during the season. Also employed a bunch of red dots, so I survived the hordes attacks...
But the IO glass clarity always kept my brain in direction, and last month I decided.
I grabbed one second hand 5x30 but managed to brake it. Sent it to IO for repair, and along the conversation we came up with the idea to upgrade for extra cash... the brown truck deliver it today.

I grabbed the 5x30-pro with a MDR reticle this time, speculating shall work better for rapid actions. This will be a dedicated scope for short range backyard defence only... maybe next summer I would try PRS range.
An hour ago I sighted in temporarily in my basement, for 10 M only, and checked the 5M distance was at the bottom first dot above the vertical.
The ranging - focus wheel works well. No time this days to visit the gunclub maybe next weekend, but playing with Strelok telling me a 20 M sightin shall work well for multiple ranges.
I will not dial the rings on this scope but holdover. And I will get a new throw lever for focus.
What was a pleasant surprise, the eye box is much bigger then the older 5x30. Also the eye relive is much longer now, if I don't fold the lens cover all the way up but just half way it is slightly touching my forehead.
Just look at the pic slots how far forward I could move this scope:

Next I want to figure how - or where can I mount a bubble level.
