Immersive Optics

Just got a 5x24. My old 10x30 MTC has bigger thicker ret, which I like better. ( if i had good eyesight , that would not be an issure) The MTC 10x30 weighs 9.6 oz & the 5x24 weighs 11.1. ( on my junk scales). So my MTC wins there too.

The side focus is not very finicky or extremely close like the MTC , so the 5x24 wins there. The illumination switch works better on the Immersive compared to the MTC. FOV is a little bigger on the 5x24. The MTC is a tad easier for get behind, but never mounted the 5x24 so I am just holding them u and kind notice this. ( which is a terrible way to judge any scope) While both are not bad. lens cover set up is very nice on the Immersive. Due to the smaller ret, I will be trading or selling this 5x24. I do have a 5x24 coming with the Mildot Rapid.

FWIW, I really, really like the mildot rapid. I can think of a bunch of reasons someone would want a more traditional reticle, especially given hold-under, but for a hunting reticle I think they nailed this.

Just some pretty pics from last weekend :) 10x24 on my Cricket II Tactical.

Thank you very much gentlemen! The cricket is an awesome platform and this combination just brings smiles. I did a little shooting with it yesterday and decided to try the longer rail (4 vs. 3 cross bars on it) and having the scope be positioned just a little further back on the gun is better. It's great having the variety of mounting options they provide. Anyway, I decided to see how the clicks track.

Here's a 50-yard target where I started at the bottom-left and shot around the box in 10-click increments with two shots at each stop. The start and end is at the bottom-left. As you can see I had some wind toward the bottom-right, but I'm pretty pleased with this. 10 clicks moved the pellets between 1 3/4 inches to 2 inches which happened to line up perfectly with the reticle's mil markings at this distance.

Here is the gun with the longer (4 rail) base on it:

And here is what the underside of the 3 section base looks like:

Made this little short base for my Impact. Trying to get the Impact to be carry friendly. I guess I have a Wildcat & now trying to turn a Impact into one, LOL. I used that high temp paint , then read that you have to bake it at 450 for an hour, so I just got it out of oven,LOL. Might get a chance tommorw to get it back together & see how it works. will post pics.

As I noted on another post, I just bought a 5x30 / Mil Dot Rapid Reticle From Wes in Canada.

Sorta like above, I put it on my Cricket 2, .22, WSA stock gun. I had to adjust the base to the 20MOA line, then a couple more clicks. Very bright, easy to sight/aim. Seems solid, well built (on the surface anyway), it's still new, so we'll see how well it holds up to my careful gun handling ! Not saying that my cats might not knock it down from standing at a bookcase though.

I may have to buy another one, and figure out what gun to put it on !

i have a couple in 5x power if interested..I will sell one. think I have two 5x & a 10x24 & a MTc 10x30. I am going to mount the 10x24 on my impact in the next day or two & see how I like it. the 5x are real nice, but after hunting with one of them I find a lil under powered for me. Probably put one of them on a PB.
