yes it has been done. AirTac hunting . One of his maverick videos, if I recall he says he fitted an impact barrel into it.

He needed to print a spacer to make it fit properly. The link to the file is under the youtube video. If you have a friend with a 3D printer, you can get one for a few cents.

They are all intechangeable, only the shroud differs, plus you will need a WILDCAT probe for the MAVERICK in the caliber you are changing to.
