Impact M3 doh moment

Well today while testing my old herculean strength I managed to snap my liner lock. Can't help but wonder if when I siezed the shroud on I weakened it some how. So now I am down and waiting until Monday to tell FX I need 2 or 3 so I have a back up.

I have anti-sieze on my threads at least now though.

I’m sure everyone has had to learn the hard way at one point or another that airguns require for the most part hand tightening. I just recently swapped out one of my fx 500mm barrels to a longer 600mm barrel. I went full r****d and tightened the barrel locking screws too tight. It gouged the barrel and caused it to get stuck in the body of my dreamline. I had to hammer the barrel out . Needless to say that was definitely a learning moment. Thankfully the dreamline still shots amazing.

It is very common for people new to airguns not to know that just about everything has low torque values. Especially when it comes to fittings that use o-rings. Just about the only reason for lock-tite on threads is to prevent items from loosing from use.

Yup, that part is true too. If I put locktite on at all it will only be purple. Unless it is never going off. If i remember correctly it is the weakest of all the colors.
