Tuning Impact M3 Micro Adjuster Useable Range

I'm trying to tune a .22 sniper to shoot range of ammunition with only needing to move the micro (or macro) adjuster. However I only can get about two units of adjustability out of the micro adjuster before it has no further effect. For simplicity we can ignore the macro wheel as it simply modifies the position of the micro adjuster. I can shift the position of curve of the micro adjuster with the valve adjuster, but can't seem to extend the range. For example, at a fixed reg pressure, I can shoot 18.1 gr pellets from 725 to 1025 FPS from micro adjuster positions 1.0 to 3.0 respectively if the valve adjuster is at 9.6 mm. Beyond 3.0 is too much hammer spring and does nothing good. Tightening the valve adjuster to 9.2 mm still starts at around 725, but lowers the top end to just under 1000 FPS (with micro at 1.0 to 3.0). I'd like to get more top end to shoot 25.4 gr pellets/slugs at 950+ FPS and still be able to plink with 14.3 gr Crosman ammo. The macro wheel provides about 1.6 points of micro adjuster range, so maybe more range isn't useful for a given micro setting. I'd like to be able to move the starting point of the micro adjuster and be able to use something like 3-4 points of its range. Maybe this isn't possible, but I wanted to see what other's experiences have been.

I have noticed that on Macro 16 I can't max out the micro to 5 so there is a cut-off. So when you take the Macro out of the picture I can see how the max can also be limited. You may need to raise your reg pressure just a touch to get what your looking for. Not sure what your regs are set at either so offering any advice on increasing speed would be just thoughts.
When I noticed on mine was on my .35 with the first reg @180 and the second at 160. I had to increase reg pressure and that gave close to full range of micro...

That is a monster jump from 25 Grn to 14, I think you could do it easy if you adjust your hammer wheel so max is max, and I’m talking true max, and then run at or over the reg knee, when on max, that would give you the widest range, what you would get is larger increments going down as the valve on the high reg end would be harder to open. Good luck, and stay off the micro, just stick with the macro.

Thanks guys. Yes, needed to turn up second reg. Here are three shot averages for 18.1 gr JSBs and the valve adjuster at 9.4 mm. Essentially the higher the regulator is set the greater the usable range of the micro adjuster, seen at both the low and top end. You'll need to pick the range of the micro adjuster to suit the macro wheel as each increment of the macro wheel position is approximately 0.1 micro adjuster units. Looks like for my setup the sweet spot is 130 bar on the second reg with a full four unit range on the micro adjuster. Also did a test of the valve adjuster (small changes) at 145 bar and saw minimal impact. As always appreciate your thoughts.
