I’ve been doing some searching for a few days about the shot “warm up” that Impacts have on their first 10-20 shots. I wanted to consolidate data and see what the consensus says the solution should be to this issue. I’ve heard all kinds of possible solutions from giving extra hammer to the first handful of shots to disassembly and cleaning the valve rod.
I believe what is happening is valve stiction and am debating disassembly and cleaning and polishing the valve rod, as someone else has fixed their gun by doing this on the forums.
I do not shoot long range and I do not see a difference in POI or accuracy due to this ramp up, so maybe the answer is let it be.
I do not have any reg creep and believe this issue to be something valve rod related. Just wondering if anyone was able to “tune” this out of their gun or if the only real solution is disassembly and cleaning.
Thanks
