FX Impact m4 micro won't move

I was trying to set up a new tune for a light pellet. I wanted the micro at 1 - 1.5 as a starting point.

I moved the micro down from 3.0 by spinning the micro adjuster but it stopped moving once I got below 1.5.

Now it won't move at all!

It won't move with macro rotation either up or down and the same with the micro adjuster either left or right.

Help, please.

Thanks

The micro and macro work together.
If you don't have the macro at 1 the micro probably won't go any lower than 1.5 .

I'm not sure I understand the macro and micro working together? All the macro does is move the micro 4 clicks at a time whichever way you move it.

It appears the macro has steps that the micro sits against. One click on the macro advances the micro 4 clicks. However, if you go from 16 to 1, the micro will jump back 64 clicks. For the micro, to go from 3 to 4 is 40 clicks.

The micro adjuster has a large hole where you can see it's shaft and threads. The bore for the adjuster shaft only has threads forward of the hole and they ride in the screw and move the adjuster left and right.

It almost seems the the micro runs out of threads somewhere less than 1.5 and the adjuster sight with the up/down arrows will then get "stuck". I had to force it towards the front of the gun to get it to move with the spinner wheel - re-engaging the threads?

I sent a problem ticket to the retailer which is what FX says you have to do with any problems. I'll let you know what they say.

Set macro to 1 and try moving micro down again. You are right that macro just moves the micro but as mentioned by others it also limits the travel of the micro.

Hey greenbeans,

I've tried that, thanks for the suggestion.

In fact I tried to move the micro lower than 1.5 (1 + 20 clicks) for every setting of the macro. It changes where the micro gets stuck by a few clicks on different macro numbers but the micro won't budge lower than 1 + 12 clicks on any macro setting. It gets stuck when I try to go down to say 1 + 10 or 1 + 8 clicks. That's when it seems to run off the threads and has to be forced towards the barrel while spinning the spinner to re-engage the threads.

I'm still struggling with these two settings working together. As I understand it, the micro, not the macro, sets the hammer force. If the micro is always at 3 + 0 clicks, the macro setting is irrelevant because the hammer force remains the same. It seems some folks want the macro set at a certain number because they have multiple tunes set up with macro adjustments only. Are there other reasons to set the macro on a certain number?

Thanks for your input.

Generally yeah you want to set the macro to where it allows you to easily go from one tune to another. But the macro also moves the entire micro assembly incl the screw the micro is riding on, thereby increasing/decreasing the hammer. The way I understand it is that you can’t have macro on 16 (or higher number) and micro on 1 / macro on 1 or low and micro on 5 because of that. But I actually never tried…

I read about those restrictions on macro/micro settings too. They are from the owner's manual.
