Check out this video of us taking the M4 out on a Prairie Dog hunt to see what they were capable of!

Is the new top rail still 20moa? Fx announced it having a newly design rail due to it being more robust, adjustable and with tighter tolerances. Yet the very first video of the gun being used in the field already has an aftermarket top rail that's supposed to make the gun more rigid and an 30moa built in.Check out this video of us taking the M4 out on a Prairie Dog hunt to see what they were capable of!

The new top rail is 30moa and a great design! The reason we have the two M4s outfitted in the Airmarksman Top Rail is because we use a lot of thermal / night vision. The extra length really helps with mounting solutions. Is the new top rail still 20moa? Fx announced it having a newly design rail due to it being more robust, adjustable and with tighter tolerances. Is it better than the new design?
Got it, thank you!The new top rail is 30moa and a great design! The reason we have the two M4s outfitted in the Airmarksman Top Rail is because we use a lot of thermal / night vision. The extra length really helps with mounting solutions.
Phew. I thought it was just me. The upgrades seem like a solution in search of a problem. But yes. The trigger looks like a good improvement. Like you I am almost exclusively fx in guns I actually shoot but I’m struggling to see why this one is worth the upgrade. But that color looks nice…I hate to say it but I am very underwhelmed with the M4. The trigger seems to be a great improvement. I hope it is backwards compatible and available for current Impact owners.
It still needs a different top rail to be suitable for your, and most of our uses.
No extended arca rail is a dissapointment.
Still needs power kits and slug liners for most of us.
What I had hoped for:
A MUCH stiffer and longer top rail
An extended Arca bottom rail
Newer hi volume valving similar to the DRS and dynamic family
The ability to accept large diameter barrels similar to the Skout and Red Panda
A working front reg instead of deleting it and saying this is somehow better.
These feel like the kind of incremental changes that can be made through iterations. The power block came out without any new model names and is as big an improvement as any of these claims of an "All New" model.
I love that FX introduces new guns frequently and is always willing to advance the state of the art. However the 2 most recent offerings in the M4 and the DRS with the "magazine" looking plenum are not heading in a direction I am interested in.
Before anyone accuses me of FX bashing. I have many high end rifles and my M3 is the most consistently accurate gun I have. I love it but it has cost as much in aftermarket parts as the gun itself costs.
Exactly my thought. Not the best marketing…lolIs the new top rail still 20moa? Fx announced it having a newly design rail due to it being more robust, adjustable and with tighter tolerances. Yeah, I was going to add to it but decided to leave it be. @MadCowCrazy2 pretty much said the rest of my thoughts. Byt in reality this isn't meant for us who have had and still have an m2 or m3 because it's more than likely modded to hell. This continues to feel like a platform for new guys getting into an fx, or if you have a bone stock m2.Exactly my thought. Not the best marketing…lol
They just should have mentioned why they had the backbones on the guns in the video. Maybe they did and I missed it ? Just kind of negates the upgraded top of the M4 otherwise as my first thought was if the m4 is so improved in that area why the airmarksman rails right out of the gate? Now I get why but many more people will watch that video than will read this thread.Yeah, I was going to add to it but decided to leave it be. @MadCowCrazy2 pretty much said the rest of my thoughts. Yes - it was mentioned in our video. Justin referred to colors as in the copper and black optionsAlso…I think it was Utah’s other m4 video (not positive it was them) that kept referring to the gun coming in colors. Used the term colors more than once. I’m curious is this eluding to FX maybe releasing more color options in the future than copper ??
You can get it as is in the 35 - if you want the 800mm .22 cal for example, you can get a barrel kit for it, same process as with the M3question,how many calibers does the ..extended or 800 mm barrel come in or just the 35 cal?
The backbones aren't necessary to have a great experience with the M4 - the reason we use them on pretty much every impact is because we need the extra mounting solution for night vision / thermal clip on units. The new factory top rail for the M4 is significantly better than previous models, we are very happy with it!They just should have mentioned why they had the backbones on the guns in the video. Most of the customer base that buys an impact actually uses them strictly for pellet purposes - ourselves included. It would be cool if you could purchase as is a setup ready to go slugger. If you call us, we can always build/tune/sight it for you.I think they should come as a slug gun, liner, prob, hammer. That appears to be what they were designed for.
So no other ones are in the making ?Yes - it was mentioned in our video. Justin referred to colors as in the copper and black options
Utah Airguns does some pretty awesome cerakote jobs. They can probably make it whatever color you want.So no other ones are in the making ?
